Anyone have their own doppler? Whats the earliest you can detect the heartbeat?

Its a professional one not one of those ones from argos, lol.

Haven't managed to hear anything yet but after about 15 mins last night I managed to get the 'heart icon' on the screen flashing and the BPM thing (beats per minute) was showing up at about 170-180

do you think this was the heart even though I couldn't hear anything yet?

Am 11 weeksish.

Don't panic if you can't. Even trained professionals struggle before 16 weeks sometimes.

I could get one from 14 weeks.

I've used it in 3 pregnancies - 1st time heard it at 9+4, second time I didn't try until 12 weeks & it was easy to find, this time at 9+5 I'm hearing placenta but no hb so far (I'v run out of gel so was using tens adhesive which really doesn't work!).

Disenchanted please don't worry i could not find a HB regularly until 14 weeks. My sister is a midwife and she could find it everynow and again from about eleven weeks but little bub kept swimming away - still did this morning too and 1m over 18 weeks now

Hiya,

I'm not worried as I still am throwing up everyday so I know everything is OK,

I can get the placenta, that whooshing sound that comes with a HB rate the same as mine but no beanie heart yet.

Im going away for 5 days so will try again when I get back

OK I wouldn't worry as alot of people said sometimes you have to wait till much further on to get it, think my muscles are just so knackered! If you find your own hb and the wooshing, the baby hb is usually very near I find. It takes ages at first to find. I was surprised how low I had to put it, literally on my c section scar and sometimes at an angle. Good luck x
