Please calm me down! 2nd pregnancy but not feeling sick...

I really hope I'm worrying about nothing, but I'm 7 weeks today and feeling fine apart from a bit of dizziness and sensitive boobs. In my first pregnancy I was sick as a dog from 5 weeks onwards, and can't quite believe that I can be feeling this good and yet everything will be okay. In the week before my bfp I had really, really bad indigestion, so I thought that the sickness would follow on but it hasn't!

The only thing I can think of is that because I'm still breastfeeding (ds 14 months) myabe my body hasn't reacted so badly to the pregnancy hormones as it did the last time, but I can't help but think something's wrong.

Has anybody had two such completely different pregnancies? I have a scan on Thursday which I'm getting really worked up about as I'm convinced they're going to give me bad news...

you can have completely different pregnancies

I've had very different pregnancies.

With dd1 I was very sick with daily vomiting almost right the way through. With dd2 I was bfing and less sick.

With this pregnancy, I had nausea to begin with, but no vomiting until now at 16 weeks! I've had two scans and all is going well with this pregnancy.

Hope your scan goes well - if you've had no bleeding or pain, there's no reason to think it will be bad news so try not to worry

With ds1 & ds2 I didn't have a moment's sickness, no nausea, absolutely zilch. They're now 3.8 & almost 2 btw. This pregnancy (I'm almost 39 weeks) I was nauseous and sicky for a week before I got my bfp, this carried on til I was about 15 weeks. Horrible - I know which I prefer! So there is proof! Please don't worry, oh, and congratulations!

I've been sick on all my pgs but was far less sick on ds2 than on any of the others. If it's any comfort, he has also been my easiest child.

I didnt feel sick at all with my 2nd pregnancy and my first thought was that this one will probably be a boy then as I was incredibly sick with DD. At the 21 week scan I found out I was right. It might just have ben that the second time round my body was more used to the hormaones but I like to think that if I ever have anymore I wil know the sex by whether Im sick or not

I didn't feel sick at all when I was PG. Not the slightest hint of nausea but VILE heartburn.
I've also heard the tale you are sick less with a boy.

my nan was sick with her boy, her #2 (my dad) and right as rain with her two girls, so you could prove the old wives wrong... seriously as others have said, different pregnancies are different and sure you'll be fine; good luck with your scan.

I'd say you were just lucky! Hope you havn't spoken too soon - Week 7 I asked my sister if it was OK to feel so well, not sick or sore or anything. Week 9 I was admitted to hospital with hyperemisis and was there on and off for 6 weeks!

Crikey how bizarre - I have just logged on to see if anyone could advise on not feeling sick and here it is! I love mumsnet. Am 7 weeks and no vomiting, or infact anything except a postive preg test! guess I will just enjoy

Thank you so much for all your messages - I do feel calmer now! Even though I'm still worried I'm allowing myself to get a bit excited about the scan - will be the happiest person in the world if all is okay.

Btw, congratulations pincushion - hope all goes well for you throughout... Is this your first?

Hi, no second, I was really sick with the first from week 5 till 21 weeks - hence feeling a little disconcerted, but it I am not going to worry about it! What about you?

Charlies Mum - I had lots of symptoms before, virtually from ov but this time i dont have anything apart from the crampy pains and needing to go to the loo loads. Am bf ds still too and was wondering if this was the reason

I just logged on to ask if anyone had had different symptoms in each of their pregnancies and found this thread - Pincushion I agree MN really is brilliant. Am waiting for AF (think I am CD22 today) and had decided that I am not this month as have not felt anything like I did in pregnancies with DD and DS but now I have started weeing all day! Boobs are sore but no worse than usual PMT. Have got no other symptoms apart from a bit of dizziness. will just have to wait and see but has given me some hope that not all pregnancies are the same even in one person.

Sorry I am not used to posting on here and also meant to say try not to worry Charliesmum. I had only 3 weeks of mildish sickness (at 6-9weeks) with number 2, and about 16 weeks of bad sickness with number 1 so I guess it can vary a lot. Hope all goes well with the scan.

im also 7 weeks pregnant and not at all sick or nauseous, so just goes to show, there's no rules on this...in fact i've felt tired and emotional last 2 weeks and found it hard to do even smallest gym workout, but this week dont feel tired or emotional at all and can do gym almost the same as before pregnant (dont worry, im not overdoing it)! so this week it's as if im not pregnant...very odd!

Hi Pincushion - I'm in Belgium so they routinely do scans this early... Went for the scan this morning and there was no 'cardiac activity'. The gynaecologist thinks it may be too early (am apparently 6 + 4 days) so I'm going back again next week to see what's going on.

I thought that today would give me an answer one way or the other, but no! I can't bear the waiting...

Btw spottyshoes, the gynae also said that bfing shouldn't make any difference to whether I was sick or not, but she did say immediately that it was a girl!

Charliemummy - where in Belgium are you? I'm also in Belgium and never had early scans with my first two pregnancies. I only had an 8 week scan this time because of two previous miscarriages.

You sound just like me! Have just posted a thread about how I kind of don't have time to feel pregnant this time around!

I'm tired and get occasional twinges but keep forgetting I am pregnant - like you I worry that something must be wrong because of this..

I had twins last time so wondering if there was just one baby this time whether that might effect things too...

Hope you get some more symptoms soon!

Hi belgo - am out in the countryside near Wavre. Where are you? Maybe it's just my gynaecologist that does early scans?

yes I think it may depend on the gynaecologist you see. I go to hospitals for scans, and see a midwife in between bu that's unusual in Belgium. I'm in Leuven.
