I have a DS age 3 and DD age 2 and although weight has been up and down I have recently put back on to be almost what I was after I gave birth.

Following a MC in Dec I have been hoping for a third but not exepcting it and just found out TODAY I am PG - due in Nov - yippeeeeeee.

I am sure that just by being healthy I should lose some weight as I am first to admit I am excessive at times. I just don't want to struggle at the end of this PG if I can do some good now?

Any thoughts........

Roca, congratulations on the pg! I would seek the advise of your GP on this one - dieting is very inadvisable in pg, but if you eat healthily and do some gentle exercise (and with two small children to run around after it's going to be hard to avoid exercise!) then you might find that your weight will, if not go down, then certainly stay the same as baby weight replaces present weight.

Good luck, try not to worry too much and enjoy your precious pg!

Congratulations!

I've lost throughout this pregnancy. Mainly due to the fact that the crap I used to eat makes me heave now! Eating much more healthily although will still munch on a couple of packets of crisps now and again!

Good luck.

An actual diet as in cutting out specific food groups is not advised, but if you reduced your portion sizes to a reasonable amount instead of eating enough for three (as I do!!) that is perfectly fine. Slimmers World does a program for pregnant ladies if you wanted to join, otherwise just watch the crisps and chocolate!

Thanks everyone - Really I don't want to go on a diet as such just eat healthily but I am rubbish trying to do it without strict boundaries. I think I may go for slimmng world. I just really don't want to get into the mindset of oh, sod it, I'm pregnant so just eat it! I remember the feeling all to well at 39 wks thinking 'right now I have a lovely baby bump but next week I will just be plain fat'!!
