Anterior placenta - when will I feel movement?

Hi,
I had my 20 week scan yesterday and was told that my placenta is anterior and therefore I might not feel as much movement as others until later in my pg.

I can feel some movement but not loads of kick etc

Anyone else had this? Can you tell me when I will start feeling more and when DH might be able to feel the movements?

SJ

Hi SJ

I'm 20 weeks too, had our scan on Monday and was told I had an anterior placenta also. Sort of suspected it as this is my 2nd pregnancy and can't feel the baby anywhere near as much as I could with ds.

If it's any consolation, dh couldn't feel ds kick until I was about 24 weeks I think anyway- so I wouldn't worry too much. Used to find too that as soon as he put his hand on my tummy the baby would go quiet! Typical.

When you're in bed at night, sleep in the spoons position, cuddling dh, then if the baby does give you a good wallop he'll feel it in his back

Are you due in July? Come over and say hello on the antenatal thread there are quite a few of us now!

Good luck x

I have an anterior placenta as well and felt flutters at about 14 weeks and kicks at about 17 weeks. Now at 31 weeks I feel pummelled so goodness know how I would feel if I had any other type of placenta!

mine's anterior high, so i do feel some kicks through it and others not iyswim.

Took longer this pg to feel big kicks; about 17 weeks and this is my 3rd baby.

I'm 33 weeks now and get big digs!

just had my scan and told this, feel little one most of the time but cause its my first i wouldn't know if less or more. Suppose it accounts for the quiet days as tend to only feel high up or very low down kicks.

my placenta is anterior with this pregnancy, it was posterior for the last 2. early on htere was a slight difference as the kicks didnt feel quite as strong as with the other 2 but i still felt it fairly early (17 weeks) and now theres no difference at all, it loves my ribs just as much as the last 2!
