How early on in pregnancy has everyone got stretch marks?

I'm 24 weeks and I started getting stretch marks around my belly bar a few weeks ago and I whinged to everyone.

I started with the bio oil and it seemed to make them less obvious, they were no longer red and nasty.

However, now I'm getting serious red ones all over my tummy!!!!!!!!! No amount of bio oil is helping and I am going to start using bio oil in morning and cocoa butter at night as I don't know if either will help but hope something will.

I know stretch marks are genetic and everything, but 24 weeks seems really early to be starting with a road map on my belly.

How early did everyone else start with these??? Will I look like I've been mauled by a wild beast by 40 weeks?

LOL - this time round I have not got any new ones thats because there is no space left from the last time. I think if you are prone you should save the money on the bio oil and spend it on cakes.....in for a penny ya know.

I agree, they are genetic. With dd they probably started appearing at about 25-26 weeks and just spread further and further (not helped by the fact that she was two weeks late!) My belly is literally covered in them, and they reach a good 6 inches over and above my belly button I seem to have them much worse than any of my friends, and my mum is just the same. They do fade, though the texture of my skin leaves a lot to be dseired. Now I am 21 weeks with my second, they are starting to look red again. I am just hoping that I don't get any more (not that there is room for them!) I have nightmares of them being like ladders in tights though and creeping all the way up .

Not much hope then i guess. Atleast i'm not the only one starting with them so early. I thought they appeared over the last couple of weeks of pregnancy!! How naive of me..

Beeper- I told my DP about your post and he laughed his head off and said he's been telling me the exact same thing!!
