Hi Ladies

I'm a newbie and found my way here from a search on Google.

I had a placental check scan (it was low at 20 weeks) and growth scan on Friday last weeka dn was told baby was perfect size and placenta haf moved however a consultant had to see me as my fluid levels were 5cm and the AFI was 7.

They briefly mentioned induction if my levels are low tomorrow but does anyone know how low they would have to be to be induced?

This is my 2nd baby and I was induced at 42 weeks with her so being induced doesn't bother me BUT i'd like to be prepared because I'm not really....as I am like I said only 37 weeks.

Any advise would be appreciated!

Hi L1980
I'm no expert I'm afraid - but had a similar thing to you with DD1. My consultant said it wasn't just about the low water (4.2 I seem to remember) but also if the water was replenishing...as I had a hind water leak - like a slow puncture - so when the baby had a pee - fluid levels went up! Actually saw it on the scan....V weird. Think it may depend on how long the water remains low - or gets less.
I was only 34 weeks when induced and DD was fine - it was me that was a wreck! hang on in there - good luck
