Anyone given birth at the PRUH in Farnborough, Kent? Or had a homebirth in the Bromley area?

Hi, am booked into give birth at the PRUH in Farnborough and was wondering if any other mumsnetters had given birth there previously and had any experiences they would be willing to share? Am also considering a homebirth if possible (at the moment, baby is breech at 28 weeks as well as small for dates so may not be an option unfortunately!).

Has anyone else had a homebirth in the local area and were they happy with the services they received from the midwives there? From what I've heard a homebirth experience very much depends on which midwife you get so I'd be interested to know....

Hi - am in the Beckenham end of the borough and am TTC no 3 shortly. Afraid that as it's closer I may ask for Lewisham so not much help on the hospital end (though have heard anecdotals at babygroups that PRUH is good) - just wanted to share my experience of the baby's position. 28 weeks is a bit early for a worry. Midwife in penge insisted my dd was transverse and I'd need a section (this was at 38 weeks), but turned out she'd mistaken the bum for the head (daughter was a skinny runt!). I tried for homebirth the first time while living in Lewisham and actually, I knew that the midwife on duty when i went into labour was the one I'd seen all the way through. Most people's dream but my problem was that I found her a bit of a pain (!) so I opted for hospital after all. So, try and meet as many of those on the team as posssible and as due date approaches, make subtle enquiries about who's on duty when! Good luck and tell us how it goes. Only just made it to hosp last time so may be looking at a home birth after all if TTC goes to conclusion!
