Bleeding at 26 weeks. Can't reach midwife.

Noticed some very light bleeding this morning which is still going on. It doesn't look like fresh blood though, kinda browny colour. No pain or anything.

Haven't been able to reach midwife yet, the receptionist said try after 1pm. Should I wait to speak to midwife or ask for a doctors appointment?

don't you have an on-call midwife number? failing that, wait now, is only half hr.

Phone the hospital direct - you should have been given the number. The midwife will only refer you on. Don't worry, this is not uncommon but best to be seen at the hospital.

call the hospital and talk to a midwife there

do you have a drop in thing at your local hospital? Ive used 2 hospitals now and both had drop in centres in the maternity bit where you can access a midwife.

If you just roll up and tell them you're bleeding, they'll scan you - which would probably be more reassuring and better than just speaking to the midwife???

Good Luck!

Ok will finish giving ds lunch then will try the hospital and see what they say. Not sure what to do with ds if they say come in. DH is an hours drive away and I haven't told him about the bleeding yet. No point in him panicking yet.

Was only just wondering how you were doing CT! I was told to ring delivery if i couldn't get a mw n that number.

How old is DS? any friends or relatives you could leave him with? or pack a bag full of toys and snacks and a drink for him and take him with you?

hi monsters, ds is two. I could leave him with FIL but he isn't the most competent of people so wouldn't want to leave him more than an hour. Mind you better that than taking him with me he would be a nightmare, plus he's a bit under the weather.

HI monsters, all fine. Had an internal exam (yuk) at hospital and was told that there didn't seem to be anything to worry about so hopefully just a one off.
