Pregnancy

Cold in bed!

I thought that pregnancy was supposed to heat you up. Yet every evening in bed I spend the first hour shivering, regardless of how many extra blankets or bed socks (yes, you heard that sexy fact right) I put on. Bloody con!

Anyone else here the same as me?

I have two duvets on my side of the bed - I must have been a cold-blooded animal in a previous life

I am having the opposite effect at the moment - sweating like a pig even when it's chilly!

I'm exactly the same scampynoodle. In fact the last few nights have slept in nightshirt, dressing gown, bed socks and had hot water bottle!!

Me too. I'm living under a blanket at the moment. Does anyone know if it's safe to clamp a hot water bottle to yourself when pg? (Overheating... ha! fat chance)

Isn't it odd? I thought that with a nipper firmly tucked in the tum I'd be bloody baking! I'll ask my midwife about it next time I see her...

I had a thermal vest and flannel pyjamas on in bed last night. Oh - and an extra duvet on top!

You know, I reckon that the lack of sex during pregnancy is nothing to do with hormones. It's to do with the fact that bed socks and thermals just aren't alluring enough.

Perhaps we could get together to design a range of peephole vests, crotchless longjohns and maribou socks. We'd be bloody irresistable!

PMSL at Scampydoodle. Great idea.

I found since I got pregnant (and literally within days of getting pregnant, before I even knew) my extremities (hands, feet, nipples) have been super sensitive to the cold and always feel cold. I also feel really cold when I get into bed, then warm up through the night (although my feet rarely get warm).

Apparently cold hands and feet is a sign of a boy, which rings true with my scan the other week
