Position of baby

Hi,

I'm 32+3 and following a visit to the midwife yesterday she confirmed that baby is head down and lying on my right hand side. She mentioned that the ideal position was for baby to be lying on my left, as this is meant to reduce the length of labour!!!. Is there anything I can do to encourage movement or will baby just decide where it wants to be.

I have heard about sitting backwards leaning over the back for 30 mins evryday to encourage the baby to move. If this is correct has anyone tried doing this over an exercise ball?

As you can probably tell its my first so they could be telling me all kinds of rubbish & I'll belive it.

Thanks
