Probably could but when i went to docs about spotting she made me feel that its so early to scan i haven't bled now for 24 hours and I didn't have any pain im just so worried i have an appointment made for friday. I will make one in the morning! I have had two successful pregnancies but have also had a lot of surgery (left ovary removed and part of right due to dermoid cysts found after no.1ds)i did have endometriosis really bad so part of me is holding on to bleed maybe caused by scar tissue etc. so bloddy miracle pregnant with third if i still am that is - thanks for your message x

at this stage it is early, can often not see much more than a sac, but based on your gynae issues , would be worth asking for an early scan x

feeling really crappy right now the clots make me feel like maybe it was a mc had mc few months ago just can't face going to the doctors i cry so much i can't even talk to her properly. so many pregnant family and friends at the moment they all know ( I know stupid to tell them but most of them guessed couldn't stop grinning and v bad at lying when it comes to not drinking etc.) i just dont want them to feel awkward or avoid me. I am generally a positive person and i am so grateful for ds1 and ds2 just can't help feeling such loss really didn't want to even think that i could mc again - my granny is dying and when i got pregnant this time i just thought it was a sign that she was leaving us and a new life should join us it made me feel stronger. I am sorry just needed to tell someone dh snoring his head off!!!

i know how stressful this can be, all you can do for now is rest and see your gp for a referral to an epu. yes, bleeding can sometimes mean a miscarriage, but just to put your mind at rest a little, i bled for the first 23 weeks of my first pregnancy, sometimes it was pink, red, brown, black, clots etc (sorry if tmi), but through all of that, she was ok, and is now 5.

take care.

thank you lucykate I really needed to hear that little bit of hope you gave me will help me sleep tonight. if it was just the bleed i wouldn't worry so much it was not huge amount and i did spot a lot with DS1& 2 but the small black clot terrifies me! lovely to hear you story - thanks again x

Just been to the doctors this morning - cervix closed and tested positive on PG test. Doctor says things look promising and will do bloods this week. Doesn't want to put me through scan just yet wants to give it one more week - my heart says be positive but my head disagrees. I am not sure what it means if your cervix is closed does anyone else know?

Cervix closed is a good sign. Normally if you are miscarrying teh cervix opens so you can dispell the feotus.

Good luck

I had very heavy bleeding and clots. When I was also examined my cervix was closed and the scan showed the baby was very well and happy..(was a little further on that you when my bleeding started, so could see everything on scan easily, 10 weeks)..

Cervix being closed is a very good sign that you have not had a M/C. However I would take it easy and try to relax until the bleeding stops.

Best wishes and take care X

i agree, cervix closed is a good sign, i was told the same with dd. when i had a scan, it showed a blurred area to one side of the sac. they said this was where the bleeding was coming from and that as the placenta forms, it sends out lots of tiny blood vessels as it attaches itself to the inside wall and sometimes this bleeds as it happens and can also tear away slightly. also they said any bleeding will be heavier in the morning and can be quite frightening as it will pool overnight, and come out when you get up. fingers crossed for you, x.

Agree with what the others have said re: closed cervix. But wanted to say that you can self-refer to the EPU so don't have to go through your doctor if you do start bleeding again. Fingers crossed, it will all be okay and the rest of your pg will be uneventful!
