DH is very tall - which buggy would you reccomend?

My DH is 6 foot 8 and I'm pregnant with our 1st - due May 27th. We are thinking about getting a Phil & Ted's E3 as we'll be doing a fair bit of walking and probably going to have our 2nd fairly soon after.

Does anyone have a very tall partner and does the P&T work for them when pushing? Any tips or advice would be great...thanks

Trial and error I'm afraid. I'm 5'10'' and have the graco city light. The handle is height adjustable, so when the au pair uses it it's on low and when I use it it's on high (and when a previous 6ft au pair used it, it was on very high!). I'd say go to your local pram shop (perhaps not only mothercare, but one that does far more makes and models than them) and try all the adjustable handle ones.

trial and error i think. my dh is 6 2 and only finds the maclaren techno comfy.

i am 5 8 and am not that comfy with our graco city lite.

but seriously compared to you how often is he going to push it? kepp that in mind when choosing.

I am 5'10'' and dh 6'. We had a Quinny which was good for the height and so were Buggaboos when we tested them. However am pregnant with second and dd only just 1 year so ebayed the Quinny Buzz and bought a Phil n Teds E3 and find it BRILLIANT. Would highly recommend it. The handle turns right round to the highest setting the Quinny had.

We REALLY wish we had bought the P&Ts first time round!

My dh is 6'4 and a bit, and preferred a sling when the children were small, and chooses to carry them on his back, shoulders or just in his arms rather than use the pushchair. They love it! He hasn't said it is because the pushchair is too low for him, but I suppose that must be a big part of it.

My friend had a 3wheeler and found her extremely long little boy kept getting his legs caught on the front wheel after about 18months. Can't remember the make though.

Oh, my ds is very short for his age, despite the fact that we are both tall.

Stokke or Bugaboo buggies are good for taller people.

They are expensive it has to be said but if you want to save your back, they can be invaluable.

i am 6'1 and the best, tallets buggy i have ever been able to find is the Techno Xt/Classic.

the handles can extend and i haven't been able to find one that is higher.

its suitable from birth and is fab for floding or putting in the car etc.

Do try out the Mountain Buggy Urban (or Terrain if you do a lot of off-roading) - it has an adjustable handle that goes pretty high, and may work well for you.

Hi there. I am 6' and hubby 6.2; We have a Mothercare Urban detour 3 wheeler and its absolutely great. But I also wanted a stroller or something a little smaller, so have just bought off eBay the Babydan Copenhagen.

see this link to view. I actually phoned them this week and placed an order. and I got £10 off!!!!! The reviews on this model (and the Babydan Stockholm) are amazing.

The handle height goes to 113cm - which is loads more than ALL the buggies mentioned, or I have come across so far.

Happy hunting.

My dh is 6'3", we have a Quinny Speedi and he doesn't need to hasve the handle on the highest setting. Get test-driving asap, as the buggies may feel very diffrernt to push when you are heavily pg. Also, borrow a child or laden rucksack to put in the buggy while trying it out, as, with the handle extended very far, the leverage could be quit severe and make the buggy harder to manoeuvre - something that won't be apparent if it's not weighted.

I am 6'3" and we have a P&T's E3. My BIL is 6' 8" too and he used our E3 over Xmas when they were over in the UK with DS and my niece no problem at all. Good thing about being tall is long arms

that babydan copenhagen does look good but 12kg for a stroller is a bit of a beast surely.

The maclaren techno is about 8 and that is pretty heavy. Suppose it depends how often you are folding it.

good points by pretty candles re trying it out weighted.

I tried a three wheeler out with my 2.4 year old in - blardy impossible to get it up kerbs but was no probs with dd2 in.
