Second trimester, why do I feel awful??

First trimester was bad, I had HG and was hospitalised for part of it. Was looking forward to an easier ride in second tri, but am 13wks and feeling dreadful- not so much nausea, but I could easily throw up, more exhausted, constant headache, dizzy, and generally feeling ill. I even passed out one morning for no good reason and was unresponsive for 20minutes!! Anyone got experience of feeling like hell in second tri? What was it due to?

I've had dr checkups recently and blood tests, showed nothing. Getting stressed about how much work I'm missing and how tired my she is getting having to do everything alone 😢, pregnancy sucks.

I didn't have hg in my first pregnancy but felt utter shite til about 16 weeks when I started to feel better. Never got the fabled burst of energy though. Currently 25 wks into second pregnant, still feel sick most mornings and am exhausted. It's just like that for some people I think. Sorry, probably not what you want to hear.

I felt pretty awful until 16w. 13w is barely out of first trimester - some say still in it - so give it time.

I'm 21 weeks and still feel as bad as first trimester (though nowhere near as bad as you - that sounds crap, I'm sorry.) Keep on at the doctor though so that if there is anything wrong they catch it. Hope things look up soon!

Hi I was the same. We had a holiday planned and I was 18 weeks and only jjsy stopped vomiting but still feeling very sick. But that stopped around 21 weeks and I feel great now at almost 30 weeks. I'm sorry Iv probs upset you as I'm way further on than you and it will Seam forever until you reach this stage. But it does get better

Similar experience to the above. I didn't have HG but was constantly nauseous with fairly frequent sickness until 14/15 weeks. After that I gradually started to feel better but it was a slow process and it wasn't until about 20 weeks that I felt completely myself again. Hope things improve for you soon Flowers

Takes a bit longer than 13 weeks for the initial shitty phase to pass. First preg I started feeling better by about 14-15 weeks, second one by about 17 weeks. And I found the 'burst of energy' thing a bit misleading - I felt loads better during my second trimester first time round, but not as good as my non-pregnant self! Just comparatively better than first trim. This pregnancy I've felt shit in different ways throughout, but the sickness did go. Hope you feel better soon, time does seem to pass a bit quicker the further into the pregnancy you get.

herewegoagain4749 I could have easily written your post :(
17 weeks today and I am feeling drained, tired, still nauseous and have a constant headache! also had HG in first trimester (still have!)

I've found that doing the bare minimum is the only way i can cope. And being in work is easier than being home, when I'm home i actually just eat, shower and go bed by 7:30/8:00.

Give it a few weeks, if not re visit your gp or call your midwife to let them know how you're feeling. Really hope you feel better soon Flowers

I'm well into my second tri and feel the same. I am a HG sufferer too, and for me the only was through pregnancy is to do as little as possible!

Update: I had one good week, at about 11wks, I could eat, work, be a 'present' parent to ds. Than caught a virus and went downhill again. Now wk 14 and HG is back!! Got a few cyclizine left, so using them to get through work tomorrow. So sick of feeling sick!!

Was crap til 18 weeks! And that final week was only mildly better due to Cyclizine . . But it does get better (for most) and I'm now 40+2 and the second half has been fab compared to first

Chin up!
