little bit of dark blood in panties at 35 Weeks

Hi there,

Just wanted your thoughts. Every day for the past 3 days there has been a little bit of darkish blood in my panties. This has been ever since I was examined externally by a student midwife. Could this be related?

I know I should spk to my midwife, but has this happened to any of you.

Thankyou

Love Tallie xx

You need to speak to your midwife today. Any bleeding should always be checked out. Has your pregnancy been normal so far? Does it look like 'old' blood or fresh? Has there been any mucus/discharge with it? Any pain?

When you say an 'external examination' do you mean she palpated your abdomen? It's highly unlikely that this would cause bleeding (even when done by a student ).

Call your midwife. It's probably nothing but best to check.

Absolutely definitely check it out - don't mess about with pregnancy.

If I had to guess - looking at your dates - early signs of a show? Is it quite mucousy?

Always get it checked out. Just give the mw a ring and see what she says.

I would also insist on getting looked at, it could be a show.

I had this with my first DS at 35 weeks. I wasn't sure if it was a show, but the next day my waters broke and I had him!

Hi Girls,

Thank you all so much for r kind messages. Have just got back from hospital and everything looks fine. I had fetal monitoring and an examination by a doctor. They said the show could be due to walking about too much or an infection.

Much love Tallie xx
