Best way to keep track of baby's movement

Hi i'm 22 +4 and have felt my baby's movements since week 18, just rolling and bubbles at first but over past couple of weeks much stronger kicks. The last couple of days i've not felt him as much as i'd grown used to and just wondered what others would recommend to keep track of the movements so that i can build up a pattern and know for sure if he's moving less or if, as usual, i'm being overly paranoid!

I can't speak for others but I've only just started picking up on a pattern of movement at 25 weeks. Before that it was a bit sporadic as sometimes it was just a butterfly feeling and other times a proper kick. Now it's much more obvious so easier to know when things don't seem right. I would maybe just keep a mental note of what you're getting and gradually you will see a pattern forming. There is probably an app somewhere too no doubt if you rigidly wanted to keep track.

Thanks for your reply. I probably am a bit too early to get a full pattern then, it just feels a little worrying when i'm used to feeling him all night and then it goes off a bit. That being said i have felt him much more during the day today which hasn't happened before so maybe he was asleep last night and awake today!

I had a search on the app store but none of them seemed to have any ratings so just wondered if anyone used an app and found it useful?

Kicks Count have an app specifically designed for this. I couldn't keep pulling my phone our at work though so I ordered one of their wristbands instead.

I spoke to my midwife about this today :) I'm 38 weeks and she literally has no pattern or routine whatsoever. She said that really, what people are really feeling is their own routine. People think their babies move more in morning/evening or whenever but it's because they are more aware of it, if that makes sense? Lots of people may disagree with that but it definitely made sense for me as I think it's because I work shifts and therefore have no routine, therefore neither does she. That totally doesn't answer your question but I've written it all now, so you're welcome for this pointless information Grin xxx

Thanks SmallBee i will take a look at this.

Kittenrush i think that probably makes a lot of sense as i feel much less during the day when i'm at work than i do on a night when i'm slobbing in my PJ's in front of the TV!!!
