TMI alert. Hard painful lump down there...

This is probably in the wrong place, sorry mn! Feel free to move somewhere more suitable if so.

On Monday when I wiped I was sore so had a feel about and found a small lump like a spot. I thought it was probably an ingrown hair or something as get them every so often so wasn't worried. Over the week it has got bigger and bigger and today it is so painful.

I've had a look with a mirror and it's a really obvious lump, feels rock hard and now the size of a grape. Got dp to have a look (bless him Blush ) he said it doesn't have a head or anything like a spot and can't see a hair beneath the skin so I think it must be very deep if it is a hair. It hurts to sit down, it hurts to walk as it's rubbing on my pants/clothes. What do I do? I want to cry and I can't get to the drs until Monday now. Could it be dangerous if it gets infected? Especially being down there when I'm pregnant? I've never had anything like this bad before.

Infected Bartholin's Cyst? Maybe Google this and see if that is what you think?

I have had one - small course of ABs solved it. I wouldn't worry at all OP!

Could it be a vulval varicose vein? I never got piles but had vulval varicose veins which were quite big and quite uncomfortable but thankfully resolved completely after I'd given birth. Is there not a gp walk in centre local to you where you could go over the weekend for peace of mind?

Sounds like a bartholins cyst. I've had surgery to remove one and believe me if it is one you'll know- it will just get bigger/harder/hotter and incredibly painful. I found mine more painful than labour. I was in hospital for 3 days to check it drained properly after surgery.

I had a cyst down there years ago. It grew over 6 months and became incredibly painful. I ended up having it surgically removed.

the symptoms you described .......it is so sure that you got piles/haemorrhoids........ use refrigerated or cold wipes .. they will sooth you .. or wash with really cold water.. cut your nails before .. wiping/ touching them as they can get infection and bloody....
and bloody piles (fistula) are really really bad monster very painful

include lots fibre and liquid intake... for soft motion... get rid off any constipation with some laxatives
you can use Anusol cream over the counter to reduce burning sensation
reduce liver/oily/spicy.. chinese(to avoid vinegar and souses) until piles gone
have just boiled things ..(rice, vegetables, salad without mustard/vinegar dressing, fruits)

Where abouts is the lump, exactly?

I think I had this two weeks ago...

It went down after a few days and a long hot bath (I'm 36 weeks).

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I dont think it's a bartholins cyst as it says that's just inside the opening and this is right by the opening but on the outer lip rather than inside.

I don't think it's a varicose vein as it's not purple (just skin colour) and hard rather than I imagine they would still be soft?

It's definately not piles.

I had to take paracetemol last night to sleep as it was agony everytime I moved. Will get to gp first thing Monday morning if not any better and try the hot baths and compresses in the mean time. Thank you lovely ladies :)

Oh, and the gland on that side on the front of my crotch is up now too so it's definately an infection of some sorts :(.

try a walk-in centre? if you have one near you, it'll probably be open now.

This definitely sounds like what I had OP. Same place, felt really swollen and hard but just on one side. Hurt to sit down and walk.

It did go away on it's own by a few days later, so hopefully yours does too.

I had a cyst on the labia that quickly turned into an abscess. Given that your pregnant and immunosuppressed I would get seen ASAP for treatment as the infection us more at risk of spreading.
