Full moon

I read somewhere that more babies are born around the full moon so I checked and that would make me exactly 37 weeks (this Sunday) or 8 days late (14th of November)
So I was wondering what that would make everyone else? Would you end up happy with a week early baby or sat waiting for an induction?

8 days late. However your baby will come when it is ready regardless of a full moon!

I know I was just curious.

When I arrived at the hospital in labour the receptionist said they were really busy and turning people away and blamed it on the full moon, apparently happens every time, she got an eye roll from me. Googled it since and the full moon wasn't that day, it was the next day, talking crap.

Anyhoo, I remember how uncomfortable I was at 37 weeks so would have been happy to pop then, I popped at 40+5 :)

I've heard a full moon can make certain people feel more emotional but not anything related to labour. That is interesting.

My dd was born with a huge thunderstorm going on(uncommon for where I live), I was convinced I was giving birth to the devil! Luckily I was wrongWink

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a myth but I'm grasping at anything that'll get this baby out quicker than dd1 Grin
mycat my dp would have been over the moon with a thunder storm!

Dd was born on a full moon.

In fact they was swamped that day and the midwifes themselves blamed the full moon. They closed their labour ward just as we got there. Another local hospital was closed due to full. Ended up going to another one 2 hours away and only just got in there

My due date is 14th Nov (full moon). Terrified I'm going to get turned away if it's full!

I researched this and all studies suggest it's an old wives tale

Lots of walking and lots of sex will hopefully help if you go over due date. I was induced so I can see why you don't want to go over!

Best of luck!

Well I just had an appointment with my midwife and it turns out my night of mild cramps last night is because she's dropped into position just a little bit so fingers crossed the full moon will work!
