Anyone who ended pregnancy with less weight than before?

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and have only gained six pounds. Mind you, I started with a BMI of 34....
I am chuffed with the lack of weight gain, and baby looks totally healthy. Midwife and consultant not worried. I didn't actively try to lose weight either...
Has anyone had similar? How much weight did you loose just by giving birth? I am hoping to keep up the momentum afterwards 😊

You have clearly eaten well for you and your baby which is brilliant! You've probably broke any bad habits you had before so are unlikely to go back to how you were before. I did the same in a different way. I was bulimic, but had a normal bmi. I got pregnant and ate for my baby. No binging or purging because I knew this little person needed me. After I gave birth I ended up with about 10lb to lose and, honestly, I didn't do anything. I just ate three meals a day and two snacks. Never went more than 4 hours withoit food to keep my blood sugar steady. I was back in my jeans within 6 weeks and I've stayed healthy to be a good role model for my daughter. I was trapped in a cycle of starvation-binge-vomit for 10 years. CBT helped, but, in all honesty it was pregnancy that fixed me. When you give birth, focus on your baby. Eat normally - you know what a proper portion is so stick to portion control rather than cutting out foods. And get your fruit and veg in to keep your strength up. Breastfeeding is always promoted as a good way to drop baby weight. I had lactation failure so I can't really say. Don't diet, just make healthy choices and when you indulge have a smaller portion of what you fancy. My dh lost weight recently by reducing his massive man portions by a quarter. Still eats the same things though. Good luck and enjoy the last few weeks x

I weighed myself the day after DD was born and I was 2 stones lighter than pre pregnancy. I had suffered with bad sickness and struggled to eat much.
With DS I lost about 1 stone.
Luckily I had it to lose and both babies were healthy and good weights

I lost with both of mine, midwife said that some women's bodies just put everything in to the baby. I'm 4 weeks post birth and a dress size smaller than when I got pregnant.

Unfortunately I put it all back on with DS, so I'm hoping to keep it off this time!

My friend who drank pints of lager every night lost 3 stone when she became pregnant all because of stopping drinking. Just before labour she was 3 stone lighter than before she was pregnant!!

I did, I was 10 stone pre pregnancy and ended up 9.5 stone. Not to do with eating well though, more to do with throwing up every meal for 30 weeks.

Me! I was 13 and a half pre pregnancy and 13 after delivery. That would be the no booze then.

I had twins so towards the end I couldn't eat much a way - I had no space for my stomach to extend.

Currently 40 weeks and weigh 1kg less than I did at the start. I had a BMI of 31, not actively been trying however being sick till 30 weeks and having a 4 year old to chase has helped. Walked loads more this pregnancy due to daughter

Me, I'm not sure on weight, but I started my first pregnancy in size 16 jeans and had to buy size 14s after I had her

Thanks for your experiences! I have actually eaten a lot of cap, but I felt quite sick in the first trimester ( more nausea, only threw up three times) so that may have helped, as well as the lack of alcohol. Hoping to go to a size 14 from a 16 😊! But no pressure, we'll see!

I'm steadily losing it (15 weeks pregnant) but not dieting, just switched to healthy eating as soon as I found out and my bmi was 39 so have plenty to lose. I figure as I'm eating plenty and have stored fat then baby won't go hungry! Plus surely it's better for my health than getting even bigger.

Weight fell off me in the weeks after birth and dipped to below pre baby weight. Husband kept saying i looked thin in a worried way. I hemmorhaged badly in a c section so he jokes i lost weight by loosing blood .. Dont think i was very well after birth tho. Friends breastfeeding kept saying how hungry they were but i didnt feel like eating much for weeks.

This is so reassuring to read! I'm 7 weeks pregnant and whilst my priority is obviously being healthy, I already had a couple of stone to lose before I fell pregnant and I worry about getting even bigger. Did anyone calorie count?
