Pregnancy

Just got stuck on the sofa

Been having some pelvic pain when walking and rolling over in bed. Was given a support belt and some exercises by physio on Thursday but when I had my appointment I was virtually pain free.

Today I've done some decorating and had a walk round shops and then laid on sofa for ten minutes. Biggest mistake of my life! Got completely stuck, screamed in agony and cried when DH eventually managed to help me up.

Won't be lying down again tonight! Never felt pain like it!

I have this issue! Sofa is very low and squishy, meaning I have to roll onto the floor on my hands and knees then try and straighten up: another one of the joys of pregnancy

I end up having to press both legs together and do a sort of sideways roll.

Was laughing as well as crying but my god did it hurt!

ImYourMama same here with the low squishy sofa... I have to do the pregnancy roll too 😂 so dignified. My DP even suggested getting a new sofa lol.

Yep another one here that needs to do the roll! Have you got a gym ball? I bought one on Amazon after my last physio appt and it's brilliant for sore days, really comfy! I just use it like a chair and you can roll back and forth to give yourself some oomph to stand up.

Ive ordered a ball to try. I struggle with pain in my upper back as well so holding myself up isn't easy. Need to strengthen my core muscles but I'm rubbish at sticking to the exercises!

I've ordered a ball and a rocking chair in the hope that the momentum of the chair will enable me to stand without the lumpy pencil roll & drop to floor I've been doing...

Yes I've recently gotten myself in some awkward positions (couch or sat on the ground in the park). It's quite recent so positions that I had no problems with before all of a sudden I am finding challenging!

What helps with the couch is to make sure you have a lot of cushions for back support so getting out of it is easier. I tend to put 2 cushions before reclining and never flat on my back. It sinks too much and there's not enough support to I get pains and I can't get up!
