Am I miscarrying?

I suppose I'm looking for positive stories, if anyone can help.

At 5 weeks, I had a small brown/red bleed, about the size of a 50p. It stopped except for a tiny bit of discharge for the day or so after. EPU scanned me at about 5+3 and saw the gestational sac and yolk sac - said that is what they expected to see and that it was 'good news for now'.

Fast forward about a week - I'm 6+4 and last night I woke up to red blood soaked through my pyjamas. I didn't feel it happen and there is no pain or clots. It was, however, a lot - if I had been standing it would likely have been a gush.

I got up and put a pad in, and have had absolutely nothing since. It seems to have stopped entirely... Although it's stopped, I'm assuming this is bad news, and will be going back to EPU tomorrow. I guess I don't know what I'm asking, but I feel in limbo and afraid I might start miscarrying properly any moment Sad

Please don't panic just yet. I had a very similar bleed i.e. Gush no pain. It was just a blood clot on my womb. I had to take it easy for a few weeks but that was all.

Just rest up as much as you can before going to the epu.

Good luck for tomorrow. I had spotting at 4 weeks, then again a couple of weeks later. At 9 weeks I had a gush very similar to what you describe - was out in town and it soaked through my jeans, with some small clots as well. No pain or cramps, just a sudden flood. Following that I then had constant spotting til I was almost 12 weeks. I'd had 2 previous MC and was convinced it would all go wrong again - but I currently have a perfect 10 day old asleep on my lap. I had 2 early scans during 1st tri and they never did find a reason for the bleed, or the spotting. It's so scary but it's not always the end. Hoping for the very best for you Flowers

I had several major bleeds in the early weeks, at one point the clost were just falling out of me like pieces of chopped liver (sorry!) And awful stabbing pains to boot. Have a perfectly healthy 7yo sleeping next door now! They never found out what caused it, still a total mystery.
Good luck op Flowers

Thanks all - scan is at 6pm so trying to rest as much as possible until then. Feel awkward lying to work, but don't want to tell them what's going on as it will put them on notice of my pregnancy (or the fact I am trying) much earlier than I'd like (male-dominated city environment who probably wouldn't understand anyway).

Hi all, fairly new to the this so please bare with me. I'm looking for some reassurance but I think I'm past that stage now. By dates I'm 7 weeks tomorrow, however I don't think I am quite that far as my cycles are much longer than average. Last Tuesday I had some brown spotting, the next morning doc sent me for blood test to check hcg levels. Which were at 76. Then the Saturday I had fresh blood, not a huge amount but enough for me to panic, I then went to a&e had more tests and hcg had gone up to 119. I was then told to go to epu on the Monday to have another test and my hcg had only gone up to 130. Tomorrow morning I'm going to another hcg test. However doctors think this Will either be ectopic or just a miscarriage. Has anybody experienced similar and had a happy ending? Thanks

This is an absolute emotional rollercoaster... I prepared myself this afternoon for the worst as I started bleeding again. Just had my scan, saw baby and heartbeat looking good, but I have a large subchorionic haematoma just under the sac. It's a wait and see situation if the bleed pulls away the sac. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thank you for your support.

That was exactly what happened to me. I was told to rest as much as possible. I stayed on the sofa with y feet up for four weeks. I had weekly scans and eventually it all cleared up. Took until about week 9 or 10. Have you been signed off work,

Kannet how long did you bleed for after the first gush? I will be working from home the next couple of days (ie from my bed), and then on holiday from Friday for 10 days, so hopefully can rest as much as possible during that time.

I had about four or five heavy bleeds then just slow bleeding (mostly brown) for about three weeks.

I had this, I bled at 7 weeks and had a scan where everything looked fine and then at 10 weeks I had another bleed and went to a&e where I had a big gush and was told that I had to be admitted due to the amount of blood I'd lost. I spent the night thinking the worst only to have a scan in the morning where the baby was kicking away! I was told I had a SCH and even though I tried to take it easy - as much as poss with a 2 yr old, I bled for another 6 weeks. I had a scan at 12 weeks and baby was still fine and midwife said at that point to get back to normal (I did keep resting though just in case) and now said baby is sleeping in my arms oblivious to all the stress he caused! Good luck Flowers

Yes I had this to mine was found at 11 weeks and I stopped bleeding at 15 weeks.

It was very heavy at first then went brown for weeks. I'm 17 weeks now and still checking every time I go to the toilet. I went for a few scans, if I was worried I just went to the early pregnancy unit.

The hospital didn't give me much info but I read online to rest as much as possible and stayed in bed for the first few days.

No heavy lifting.

I'm assuming mine is resolved now but that hasn't been confirmed.
