SPD and support belt - worried about the baby

I tried it this morning (the belt I mean) on the way to work and it helped the pain.

However, my baby promptly kicked like mad so I removed and he continued to do so all day.

I rang the maternity unit to explain things and they didn't seem worried though I forgot to ask whether I should stop using it or not.

I'm in agony but obviously don't want to hurt my child (24 weeks).

Help!

Don't worry, baby is well cushioned in there. It won't be that he kicked more, just that with your bump being slightly compressed you'll feel it more. Wear the belt, don't be in pain, baby will be fine.

Wear it. It helps and they're very very well cushioned in there. He'd also kick if you had a cold drink!

I wore one through two pregnancies and I had two bouncing healthy babies. I also used TENS over my pelvis (as told to by the physio) and took bucket loads of codiene. All fine. You just feel it more as your tummy is held tighter. I liked the feeling of some of the weight of my bump being taken a bit. It always felt really heavy when I took it off.

I resent my bump at the minute - my life is cancelled (beyond work) and I hate the feeling of it dragging in my lap as well as the pain.

Could it genuinely be that you feel it more? I pretty much had a panic attack in the loo at work over what I thought I'd done to my son.

The belt they gave me goes under the bump like around my bum, are you putting it on right? Maybe try it abit lower. I cant say ive used it much I found it made it worse for me. Anyway I'm sure they wouldn't give anything that could harm bubba it will just be annoying, like when you lean your arm on your bump and you get a whack
