Feeling Faint/ "Funny Turn"...

I've just had to come home from an event I was supposed to heavily involved with as I came over funny. Felt like I was going to faint!

I'm 33 weeks and it just came out of nowhere. I'd put it down to one of those things except it's the second time it's happened in as many weeks. First time I was shopping and I made it back to my car, though I was concerned about fainting in the middle of the shopping centre! Should add neither time have I actually fainted just felt really weird.

Has anyone has this? Is it blood pressure or something?

It could be blood pressure, blood sugar or iron levels, speak to your mw about blood tests maybe?
Does it happen when standing up after you've been sitting or lying down or when you are too warm? If so, probably blood pressure.
Does it happen before you're due your next meal or snack - could be blood sugar.
With low iron you might also be very iron and sometimes slightly breathless.

Feel better soon op.

Happened to me alot...low bp and low blood sugar. I found eating a little bit regularly helps, drinking water and resting. Carry cereal bars and water with you. Its horrible though...

Thank you for your replys. Perhaps it was low blood sugar, ironically i was in a tea room and had just been offered cake, which I'd turned down because I didn't feel well!

I think I need to adopt the little and often approach to eating until the end of my pregnancy.

Thanks for the advice. Cake

i had this when i was pregnant, i couldn't even think straight. i can't quite remember the timescales, so it may be a coincidence, but i had low ferritin levels when pregnant and had to take iron tablets.

it has happened to me again recently - i had given blood the day before, and then felt like i was going to faint, had kind of tunnel vision, couldn't think straight and couldn't even get the end of sentence because i kept forgetting the word. the next week i was (coincidentally) diagnosed with low ferritin levels.

i have only since then realised that i had felt exactly the same that time when i was pregnant, so i would suggest getting that checked too.

I had it at 18 weeks - was put down to low blood pressure. Sweating, nausea and very faint feeling. Haven't had it again since. I was told to make sure I drink plenty
