Pregnant whilst breastfeeding, fussy baby

Has anyone else had a problem? I'm roughly 6-8 weeks pregnant (I haven't have a period since giving birth). The past month or so my 10 month old has not been himself. He's very clingy, demanding of milk feeds very often (every 1.5-2hrs) he's waking much more in the night and seems genuinely hungry. He was previously a very happy laid back kind of baby.

I don't want to stop breastfeeding him, I always wanted to continue until he made the step himself.

My nipples are really tender so at the moment i'm not enjoying the feeding as much as I was especially throughout the night with his hoover latch!

I'm wondering if my milk production has dropped and if this is what's causing the change in him, will it go back up if I continue to feed on demand? Should I pump? Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a 9 month old ds and I'm pregnant again due in August, I didn't find my milk dropped but painful nipples made it difficult so I started expressing all ds feeds and I found that better than having him at breast. Could you try expressing see how you get on? The sore/sensitive nipples stopped about 12 weeks in for me.

My milk supply dipped around then and dried up completely at around week 16 of pregnancy. It came back around week 32 then changed to colostrum after baby was born. My toddler nursed throughout!

I'm 17 weeks and sill feeding my almost two year old. I wonder if my supply had recently dipped too as she has been eating A LOT more solids.

You can continue to nurse or dry nurse of it suits you both. I'm going to let me LG lead the way there.

Oh the nipple pain. Yuck! It's so much better now but earlier in this pregnancy it was hell. Good luck x

Hi pinkheart I've just got my BFP today (pos 4-5 weeks) and my 14 month old has become very fussy. swapping between boobs and seemingly frustrated.
Daddy is doing bedtime with a bottle of milk tonight instead. not sure if bf is going to end, and unsure if we'll tandem feed, just going to go with the flow and if ds decides he doesn't want to bf anymore then so be it i think. i'll be sad when he stops alltogether i think.
