Cream for stretch marks

Has anyone got any advice on what to get help with stretch marks? I think/hope I may have gotten lucky with genetics. Got to size 16 at one stage and now have size DD Boob's and have no stretch marks. My mum also has no stretch marks. I know genetics has a lot to do with it but I would also like to feel like I'm doing all I can.

You could slather yourself in creams 3 times a day and won't make a blind bit of difference. If you're going to get them then you're going to get them. However I've been usin palmers cocoa butter to moisturise my bump becasue it smells nice and the act of rubbing it in is very relaxing to me. I have preexisting stretch marks from puberty that have obviously grown with my bump and only appear to have 1 that's new just under my bump.

Hi, I got told to use oils instead of butters/creams etc as it needs to get down to the epidermis layer of your skin, creams etc don't reach far enough down to make any difference. I think a lot of it is genetics tbf. GL :)

I'm using this oil:

www.weleda.co.uk/mum-to-be/stretch-mark-massage-oil-100ml/invt/606160

32 weeks and no stretch marks yet but who knows if it's down to the oil or luck.

Am convinced I'll get them at around 37 weeks or so though!

I didn't use anything and don't have any stretch marks. Proper coconut oil is meant to be nice though for keeping the skin soft

I used the Weleda oil too and didn't get any stretch marks with my first baby, though I had a pretty small bump. Start using it asap - you need to start before your skin starts to stretch do it's already nice and elastic when your bump starts to grow (well, that's my theory any way!) Smile

I usee Palmers cocoa butter lotion twice a day & have done since I was about 12 weeks. I'm now 39+1 ( currently in early labour actually! Just trying to occupy myself when I'm not having contractions haha), & don't have any stretch marks from pregnancy - just a few on my hips from my teens. I don't know if it's the lotion as to why I have no stechmarksn, but even if it isn't it smells nice, is pretty cheap & stops my bump from becoming too itchy so I like it. If it's the reason I'm stretchmarks free that's just a bonus!

I've seen lots of people say creams etc won't help at all its not necessarily true, it is genetic however if your prone to weight gain and don't eat healthy you will gain weight same goes for stretch marks if your prone and do nothing they will get bad angry and red/purple.

You need to use a cream with elastin in to help the skin be stretchy and massaging the skin will help bring blood few to renew the tissue. I use forever living cream I've got a few stretch marks but they have come out silvery instead of red and are minimal. Anything that gives the skin elasticity and is healing will work a treat to at least minimise hopefully prevent.

I used bio oil every ought throughout my first pregnancy. I am a size 8 and was very much expecting stretch marks as I didn't here was much stretch! My mum and sister boy got em. I didn't get one. No itching, no stretching pains, nothing. I completely put it down to bio oil, which is renowned for its scar busting abilities x
