NIPPLE CLAMPS

I'm 10+1 with my first and I have to say I've been extremely lucky with symptoms for the most part- bad nausea but not actually throwing up, acne on my back and chest (which is gross but doesn't actually hurt or anything) and total exhaustion, which seems to be very much on the out the last couple of weeks.

However. My nipples are in agony!! Seriously, they feel like they have nipple clamps on! My boobs were massive to begin with and are now even bigger and it's all just generally really uncomfortable. I'm due to run a half marathon this weekend and I'm dreading it as running has been hurting my boobs so much!

In anyone's experience, is this likely to mean they continue to be painful through breastfeeding as well? I'd really like to breastfeed if I can but at the moment just brushing against my nipples is agony, I can't imagine anything sucking on them!!

That's it really. Just wanted a bit of a moan. I know I'm lucky, I do. But....ouch!!

I don't know about by as I'm only 19 weeks but mine were the same but have calmed down now so I imagine they'll be ok by the time you give birth. Just a guess.

Mine were agony in the first trimester, but were fine from around 15 weeks,as for breastfeeding, other than them feeling engorged in the first few weeks, everything was fine. Soreness comes when they cluster feed to control your milk supply but it does settle down :)

Mine where sore in first pregnancy went away after maybe 14 weeksish I can't really remember so couldn't have been long this time however total agony still at 19 weeks. My boobs are massive just now falling out a hh so often in the way and getting bashed by my 4 year old or brushed against things. I'm hoping it goes at some point soon I can't imagine it will keep up after birth any symptoms i still had the morning I went into labour were gone pretty much as soon as DS was born.

I had very sore boobs and nipples at the beginning of pregnancy but they calmed after the first trimester. It was not an ongoing problem and didn't come back when I was breastfeeding so you will hopefully find it goes away soon.

This too will pass.
The initial pain of breastfeeding can be awful. Having never used nipple clamps, I cant compare the situations. But honestly. All things pass. Even the pain of a baby biting down on sore nipples doesnt go on for long.

Actually I have to confess i have no first hand experience of actual nipple clamps. But this is very similar to what I imagine they'd feel like!

Thanks for the replies, ladies. stitch that is wise advice which I shall remember going on into the pregnancy. Now I just have to apply it to the ongoing tantrums being thrown by my ex about the fact that the little one exists in the first place. sigh.

Lansinoh and fabric breast pads are your friend. My nipples also really hurt in the first trimester but it settled as others have said.
