Hi everyone, just thought I'd see if I could find anybody else who has gone through the same experience as me.

Currently on my 4th pregnancy at 8 weeks (one healthy 3.5 year old, 1 miscarriage, 1 stillbirth). Had a bleed at around 5 weeks, went for EPU told it was an empty sack and come back in a week. Following week, returned to find baby and heartbeat!!

One week later with no bleeding, I've bad light brown discharge (sorry TMI) I'm on 60mg of clexane twice a day and 75mg of aspirin a day.

Anybody gone through something similar? next scan week tomorrow, and I'm so scared!
X

I had brown spotting in both my pregnancies - both at 6.5 weeks. First pregnancy it lasted 10 days and DD is now 2! This time it lasted about 4 days and I had an early scan which showed all was fine (am 12 weeks now).

The sonographer told me the first time that it's very common around 6 weeks due to further implantation.

Good luck for tomorrow, come back and let us know Flowers

First pregnancy I had brown spotting at 5 weeks and then a further 3 or 4 more times, each time around the time my period would have been due. Had extra scans every time to check on the baby every time.
2nd pregnancy, I had a huuuuuuge bleed lasting a couple of days, which went through about 3 pads per hour about the for the first 3 or so hours. It was very scary, but the consultant that I saw didn't seem too concerned once we saw on a scan that the heart was still beating.
Both babies (now 4 and 22 months) are sleeping soundly upstairs.
Something that the consultant told me that I found reassuring was to remember that the bleeding was coming from me and not my baby.
Also, most of my friends have also had early spotting in pregnancy without any problems with the baby.
Hope all goes well for you OP.

Thanks ladies. Just trying to reassure myself and remember the little one was fine after my first heavy bleed.

So helpful hearing similar stories. Will let you know how I get on x

Yes I had spotting almost daily from pre conception til nearly 11wks. The baby seems to be doing well and I am now 12w 5d and no spotting since I started on the prism trial. Maybe you can see if a hospital on your area is taking part. It is a trial to see if progesterone supplementation can help prevent early miscarriage in women with unexplained spotting before week 12. Unfortunately it is a double blind trial so you may get a placebo but it's worth a try. Seems to have helped me a lot so I think I probably got the progesterone suppositories. Anyway to get to the point, spotting doesn't always mean the worst. Fingers crossed for you and good luck with your scan.

Hi ladies just thought I'd let you know the latest.

Had a scan yesterday morning showing a large haematoma next to the baby. The doctor scanning said he couldn't see a heartbeat but wanted a second opinion. Had an external scan then, who confirmed there was no hb.

I'm going back on Saturday to have the miscarriage in a controlled environment as the bleed is quite large and I'm on blood thinning medication.

Disappointed to say the least but I've insisted on getting blood work done to rule anything out although the doctor thought it was just down to bad luck seeing as I've had two pregnancies (although one resulted in a stillbirth).

Good luck to you ladies and thanks for your kind words x
