2 days till my due date and so sign of baby. No sign of a bloody show or anything else for that matter. I've tried eating pineapple, sex the usual. I guess you can't really do anything to hurray baby along. I don't know how ladies could cope going 2 weeks over Shock
My wk40 midwife appointment falls on baby's due date she has said she can do a sweep, I'll get it, but are they really effective?
More of a rant I guess, anyone else playing the waiting game?

Can I join in for a moan to? It's my due date today too with dc3, I have been stopping and starting contractions for over a week now Sad I really was convinced I wouldn't go over due, but here I am with no baby, so I feel your pain!

I've tried loads, sex, nipple stim, waking, spicy food. I've now given up and just trying to chill and rest.

I had 3 sweeps with ds and he still had to be induced and dragged out, but I had one with dd at 40+4 and I woke up in labour early hours of the next morning, so it worked that time for me! I hope it works for you too!

This is my first, i keep going from being excited about meeting baby (we don't know what we're having) and a fear of losing the status quo lol.

Awwww!! I hope your little one makes an appearance soon.

When I went to my appointment at 40+3, I was offered a sweep. The consultant tried to do the sweep and basically caused me quite a bit of pain in the process, he then told me that unfortunately it wasn't successful and the reason it was painful is because my body was showing no signs of labour coming! He said, from his experience, he would imagine it would be likely I'd end up being induced.

I went into labour that day and DD was born before 9am the following morning.

Whatever he did, worked! I've since read on here that sweeps only work if you're likely to go into labour anyway which didn't seem to be the case for me.

I will have another sweep this time if need be! Yes, it was sore, but I've heard being induced can be harder than going into labour naturally! Also, many ladies on here who have been a cm or so dilated, have said its not painful to have a sweep so you may find it fairly painless.

Good luck either way! You've not got long to go now although I'm sure it doesn't feel that way x

Relax, babies come when they are ready. No show today doesnt mean baby wont come on due date. My show only came when i was in labour both times. Also my sweep worked at 40+6 so it could work for you. But really, just relax and get as much sleep before it happens.

I didn't find sweeps painful just uncomfortable, like she was aiming for my tonsils. Much less painful than induction! But yes, I'm taking elf's advice and relaxing as much as possible, it'll be too hard to relax soon!

Feeling a bit nauseous and an upset stomach the past couple of days so hopefully things will be moving. I just always thought you needed to have a show as a sign labour is on its way

Apparently all pineapple does is give you the runs so don't bother.

I feel your pain though as I was 10 days over. I was like an Antichrist that last week. Face like thunder!

I only had pineapple as it came with the melon.

Are you sure you're supposed to eat it and not shove it up there?

A few days before your due date is a really anxious time. You feel you've got this deadline and just waiting. I cleaned and organised the house to within an inch of obsessive. Last night I was over joyed to find some dust as it'll give me something to do today.

Good luck. And I've been told wanting to kill people is normal :)

I'll admit I've told someone to fuck off.

5 unanswered text messages wok not bring a baby.

People are so rude. Just tell them you had it weeks ago. I mean, it's not like you're not going to tell them!!

I'm having a bad day. I feel sick l, my cat fell off the couch and I couldn't catch her (she's fine) so I cried and now my nose is stuffy. Now I'm crying because I'm lonely (apparently?!)
