oh no! could this be SPD?

My hips have started giving me some jip over the past week or so - nothing major, but stiff during the day, and sore at night, when I'm getting into my pyjamas and turning over in bed, which seem to be some classic symptoms.

I wasn't getting any pain at the front of my pelvis (which I thought was the telltale sign) until last night - I'd gone for a brisk walk for about a mile and a half, and then come home and had a bath. By about 9 o'clock, the pain was pretty bad - I was hobbling around the house like an old lady, tipping forward from the waist, and that was when it started to hurt at the front in the middle. (usually it's just the bottom of my back and my right hip). After I'd gone to bed, turning over was agony. I got up for a pee in the middle of the night and that wasn't much fun either. This morning though, I'm fine.

I'm 23 weeks pregnant. If this is SPD, is it likely to get worse? Apart from last night, it really isn't too bad right now. Will it affect my labour?

I am suffering the same as you

I would say that I haven't found tyhat it has got progressively worse since it started, it's more like that you have good days and bad days.
I haven't heard of it being a problem in labour afterall the reason for spd is the loosening of everything which helps your pelveis open up for the birth

hope youhave a better day today

oh and tips from the pyshio, keep your kn ees together when turning over in bed and try lying on your back with your feet right up in the air when your having trouble with the pain

hi, soundslike spd, i got it at same stage of pregnancy. it can get worse so get reffered to an obstetric physio asap. Also try to keep your knees together when turning lifting etc, easier said then done though .

Ps it didnt affect my labour as such although i had another emergency c section for fetal distress and possible uterine rupture, but dont be alarmed as this has nothing to do with spd.
pps i did labour to 8 cms and spd was not a problem for me.
