Hello all.
Just a bit of advice needed really as this is my first and not quite sure what to expect.
35+4 today and have woken up to a dropped bump. I know this can happen weeks before baby makes an appearance but I've also had bad back ache, period cramps and quite noticeable bh lately.
Is this a sign of this happening? I've not long had a growth scan and was told baby is approx 6lb 10 already and measuring a little bigger then usual ??
Thank you for reading and any advice is appriciated.

Unlikely. Most people make it to term and normally first pregnancies go past 40 weeks. (Not that you have said it is your first)

You've probably jinxed yourself and will go on to be overdue Grin
Keep an eye out for mucus plug, v strong period pains etc & good luck!

I don't know what bh is but for me at 36 weeks the bump dropped and I had 2 days of cramps, period pains and backache. We didn't believe it was happening but finally decided to go to hospital and 5 hours later my son was born.

So I would say ignore the comment about most going to 40 weeks, not sure that is true by statistics and go with your feelings.

By the end you will probably know, I didn't know they were contractions to start and my waters didn't break

I didn't say most go to 40 weeks. I said most go to term. Which is 37 weeks. I believe this to be true.

I am 35+4 today as well! And have had a similar experience. I had period type pains all afternoon and was getting anxious that something was going to start. But I think it is just the body getting ready. I am hoping to go to at least 40 or 41 weeks, I have a house to decorate!

Thank you all for your replies and comments. Still having bad period style cramps and backache. In agony from low bump which is now so hard I can barely walk (as having spd isn't bad enough) part of me wishes baby would make an appearance and part of me wants her to stay put and finish cooking! I wish everyone who is pregnant good luck! ??
