Pregnancy

loosing symptoms - nearly 10 weeks

I had lots of sickness, nausea, bloating and, headaches in week 8. I made some changes to times I was eating and avoided eating past 4 pm as lots of my symptoms were worse in the evening. I also had to be in bed by 8 pm.
Week 9 and my symptoms lessened but I put it down to my new regime and anticipating what made me feel worse. Also all the extra sleep helping.
I'm now 10 weeks and managed breakfast normally today with no retching, normal evening meal. Food seems to taste better, fog seems to be lifting.

I know there are probably hundreds of these types questions but I'm nervous because I had a mmc diagnosed at 9 weeks in April.

My kind gp said that if I had any bleeding in this pregnancy she would refer me straight for an early scan. I don't want to bother the gp with my hypochondria But I can't help feel this is a bad omen. It feels like such a long time to wait for my 12+ week scan.

When I was pregnant with my first child it was over 7 years ago and I'm sure that I didn't start to feel better until 13 weeks.

I can imagine it is a stressful time. I had a mmc a few months ago and am both desperate to get pregnant again and dreading it for this very reason!

Are you in a position to pay for a private reassurance scan? That's what I am going to do when the time (hopefully) comes Thanks

Not really. I wouldn't know where to start planning something like that. We live in quite a rural location so I imagine I'd have to travel quite far to get one.
and I'm also worried that even if I had a scan at say 10 weeks that it would only reassure mwe for that particular day,.and then I'd still wonder up.to the 12 week scan. Gah.I feel so foolish for allowing myself to get so worked up.

I can completely sympathize with you. I've had two mc...first was an mmc in 2012...worse thing is I had hyperemesis so was sick as a dog. Kind of why pregnancy sickness means nothing to me as I still mc with it. I got pregnant again 3 months later with dd and again had hyperemesis. I remember having the odd day around 10 weeks+ where I would feel a lot better than usual...ie no vomiting and little nausea. Like you I worried but my dd was fine. In fact she's currently sleeping next to me.

Once again I find myself pregnant, 10 weeks after mc. Like you, I freak out. Today I had a slightly better morning and was convinced something was wrong but I felt sick again this afternoon. Don't think that fear goes once you mc. Apparently the placenta starts to take over weeks 8/9 so some women see a decline in sickness from 10 weeks onwards....this can be gradual or instant. Will keep my fx for you.

I am 10+1 and my nausea has definitely eased off over the past few days and my energy seems to be increasing. From my panicked googling it's not uncommon at this stage. I find my symptoms also fluctuate, some days I feel rubbish, then I feel ok and panic, then a few days later I'm feeling rubbish again. I definitely find the symptoms improve at the weekend when I have had more time to rest. Take care.

So sorry to hear about your mmc Sad
My symptoms started to ease at about 10 weeks as well. I was convinced something was wrong as I'd felt truly awful from the start but everything was fine ??

I'm currently 17 weeks with dc3, I can't remember when I started to feel better with dc1 and 2 but this time round I started to feel better and 'lose' my symptoms around 8/9 weeks. I did miscarry between dc1 and 2 so can relate to your worrying but do try not to. I'm sure all will be fine. Thanks

Dear Autumn 2014,

I have been lurking for a while, but this is my first post here.

I am going through exactly what you are. I am now 10 weeks, but after 8 weeks my symptoms disappeared. I didn't have many - sore boobs, tiredness, very slight queasiness, bloating, wind, and a messed up appetite. For 3 weeks even a normal sized portion caused bloating which kept me awake at night. Now I feel perfectly fine, eating normally, and I can jump up and down with no bra on!

I am terrified I've had an MMC. I rang the Ante natal clinic yesterday and they didn't want to know unless I was bleeding or in pain. I don't even know if I was speaking to a midwife or a receptionist - she disappeared for ages obviously to ask someone - I bet I was talking to the bloody receptionist!

I don't think I can get through the next 13 days and 4 hours till my scan without having a nervous breakdown. What's more I am taking my husband to Paris as a surprise for his 40th birthday 2 weeks after the scan and I'm scared that I'll have to have surgery under GA and won't be able to fly. When I came off the phone I nearly had a panic attack at work then terrible stomach ache which turned out to be wind. I don't know if it was anxiety or a symptom!!

Autumn when is your scan? How are your symptoms today? What are you doing to try to stop yourself going crazy?

Hi all,

I am in same position as the OP, had a mmc discovered at 9 weeks in May and now 10 weeks again and have lost a lot of symptoms. I remember when I had my son the symptoms didn't disappear until 14 weeks.

I was so worried I called and went for a scan yesterday (not in UK so common here) and confirmed everything is fine so there is no need to worry if you think symptoms are going early. It will all be fine for sure.

These first weeks a a massive struggle when you have lost a pregnancy you never stop worrying it'll happen again.
