Hello
You will have to excuse me if there has been many threads on this. I am 6 weeks into my first pregnancy. I have had no cramps or pains and when I went to bed last night I was fine. I woke up this morning to slight pink/brown bleeding. In my head i think I am miscarrying. I am extremely upset I gave been to the doctors this morning and they said I have a slight infection so the blood could from that not the womb. I've been googling and extremely confused. Can any one give me advise or if they have gone through this themselves. Thanks
One very stressed woman

Hi Blackhawks1,

Slight pink/brown bleeding is not something to necessarily be concerned about, it can be completely normal and usually old blood from implantation.

What you need to look out for is any severe pain and bright red blood, other than that a little bit of spotting is okay and something a lot of pregnant ladies experience! I had the exact same thing!

Try and get some rest today, sending positive vibes your way!!!

X

Hello :)

It is horrible and stressful when something like this happens but like the previous poster said, brown discharge is common in the first few weeks due to left over implanting bleeding.

I had this on and off from 4 weeks - 10 weeks and each time it happened I freaked out but now I'm 37 weeks so it wasn't a sign of anything bad.

Hope you can relax a little :) xx

I had exactly the same thing at around the 6 week mark, I called my local early pregnancy unit and was advised to come in for an early scan, this showed that the blood was not coming from the area around the baby. It was too early to see a heartbeat so I was invited back 2 weeks later for another scan in which we saw the baby's healthy heartbeat and growth.
It's silly for me to say please don't worry because I was absolutely beside myself but just know that this is extremely common and there is every chance it is not a problem at all.
If I were you I would contact your early pregnancy unit and put your mind at ease.
