I'm fairly new to this conversation/thread thing and don't get the abbreviations! Am I being really think? I can't for the life of me work out what ds, dp, dd etc etc mean!!! HELP!

ds - dear son, dp - dear partner, dd, dear daughter - I think. Come to think of it, I just assumed, but I think thats it. Sure someone will correct me if not.....there are some I don;t know as well..........

DS darling son

dp: darling partner

DD : darling daughter

sil : sister in law

fil father in law

dsd darling step daughter

dss darling step son

mil mother in law

dh darling husband

af auntie flo period

bfn big fat negative

bfp big fat positive

Hi there, welcome to mn! ds/dd = dear/darling son/daughter; dp = dear/darling partner; dh = dear/darling husband. There's a link somewhere with a big list - will try and find it!

A few of the less formal ones are:

lol - laugh out loud
rofl - roll on floor laughing
pmsl - pi$$ed myself laughing

And finally:

ffs - for f* sake.
