Conception date confusion

The due date I've been given is Thursday 17th of December.

I've calculated this and used different conception calculators and the most likely date of conception/ovulation I've come up with is Thursday 26th of March.

I'm just wondering could this mean I conceived BEFORE or AFTER this date. By after I only mean a day after.

I had sex on the 24th (a Tuesday) and then on the 27th (a Friday).

This past Thursday I was exactly 20 weeks according to measurements of the baby. I am now 20 weeks and 2days.

I'm guessing this is to determine who the father is?

It could be either, the due dates from scans are often a couple of days out. For example, my due date has been moved forward 5 days which I know isn't right.
So I don't think there is any way you can tell for sure, sorry

Agree with abbey. If it's for the reason I said then dna test would be best x

Is this because you had sex with two different men? If so, I'm afraid you will need a DNA test. You can't tell based on those dates.

If it is simply because you want to know the due date, I'm afraid they come in their own sweet time within about a five week window Grin

Ok thanks. Yeah it is due to different partners.

Absolutely no way of telling from those dates I'm afraid. Could be either.

Ok.

How much of a problem is this going to be - is one of these people a long term partner and does the other know? Or is it more a case that you aren't in a serious relationship with either? I've seen people on here beat themselves up for 9 months keeping a secret and it's very tough.

If you used protection on one occasion and not the other, there is a good chance that that person is the father. Is that the case? Or were both protected/unprotected?

Your dates on the 12 week scan can easily be over a week off, and the dates at 20 weeks can be even less accurate. You can ovulate early, or you could have ovulated on 26th and still have live sperm from sex on the 24th.

I'm really sorry, but you just won't know from dates.

One of them I was in a relationship with but no longer speak to either of them.
I have asked him to take a DNA test after the baby is born and he said ok but I think he's going to make it difficult.
I think I did ovulate earlier.
Can you get pregnant the day after you ovulate?

Yes you can easily get pregnant the day after you ovulate. Sperm live an average of 3 days as well but can be up to 5.

Yes - the egg can be fertilised for a day or two after it is released. Sperm can live a lot longer.

If you ovulated bang on 26th, the egg could have been fertilised by sperm already there from the sex on the 24th, or fertilised a day later by the sperm on the 27th.

Sorry.
