Not feeling much movement at 20 weeks

I've just turned 20 weeks (yesterday) and I've posted this in pervious weeks and told it was normal but I was a little bit anxious still.

I've been feeling small movements but they could be easily missed if im not concentrating and it's little and often, but some days I don't think I even feel anything (especially in the last week). Heard the babies heartbeat twice though which is reassuring and I have my scan on Tuesday so I'm sure that will put my mind at ease.

Just wondering if this sounds normal for 20 weeks? And should it be too long before I start noticing things more?

I told the doctor at my 20 week scan that I hadn't felt any movements yet and she said it was still early, which I was skeptical about because plenty of people feel them much earlier. I told the midwife a week later and she did a scan and told me I would feel him that week. And I did! So, I felt nothing until week 21. 10 weeks later I feel him all the time.

I predict you'll feel yours soon Smile

I started to feel movement at 17 weeks was very random and wasn't all the time. I only started to feel it everyday just after 20 weeks and I'm nearly 23 weeks and actually on my way to maternity now as I haven't felt her move from Thursday. But maternity are reluctant to see me as I'm under 24 weeks. So I've been trying for days to get seen x

I was the same at 20 weeks, it turned out I had an anterior placenta which can mask some of the movements early on. It get better when they get bigger though.

Thank you Siesta hopefully it will be soon!!

Mummyn id felt a few things from then then nothing, when I heard the heartbeat a few days ago you could hear the baby move but I didn't feel it so I suppose he is still tiny in a big womb! I hope they see you I read your thread before so fingers crossed all is okay! Keep pestering them it would be wrong of them to turn you away, hope all is well! X

I'm 20 weeks too & was getting a bit paranoid as the only thing I could say I've felt is a faint ripple occasionally. I had my 20 week scan on Friday & I have a low lying anterior placenta so radiographer said it could be nearer 24 weeks before I really feel anything. gave you had your 20 wk scan yet?

This was me. I worried nonstop about lack of movement and feeble movements - they even gave me an extra scan at 27 weeks!

I still get paranoid and upset about it, but I will say that 28 weeks really was a milestone as since then I feel bigger movements much more regularly. You should see if you can get checked (to put your mind at rest, not because I think anything is wrong!), but hang in there; they are totally right that 20-27 weeks is too small to feel everything!

Hi frills - don't worry much - I e been told with first baby you might not feel much until between 24-28 weeks and for second + pregnancies could be between 18- 24 weeks . So sit back and relax and enjoy the little one taking its time as I've heard when the proper kicking kicks in sometimes it pleasant and sometimes it's not

Ah thank you all. I'm forever making posts panicking about movement I think because people keep asking me which reminds me I don't feel all that much. Ive had the odd definite movement where I'm actually like 'oh my god he moved' but then that's only ever happened about 3 times! Hopefully it will become more and more.

I have my scan on Tuesday (nervous wreck atm) so I'll ask more about my placenta see if that sheds some light. If not I'll just sit back and wait for the kicks!

I didn't feel DS1 until 20 weeks, 21 weeks with DS2 - I put it down to the fact that they were just tiny babies!!
The kicks will soon come - lovely feeling!
