Taking hospital bag to a wedding?

I'm a bridesmaid and my DH is an usher at a wedding soon. I'll be 33 weeks pg then and the venue is 5 hours away. Would you take your hospital bag and car seat with you? I haven't packed it yet!

Hmm. Yes I think I would have. Just in case. But DS was my PFB and I did everything by the book!

Yes I would. I went into early labout at 32 weeks (thankfully stopped in the MU and baby clung on til 39weeks) but it was a weight off to be able to grab bag and notes as we dashed out the door.

I can't see a downside to taking it. It can just sit in the car boot unless you need it.

As my granny always said: "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it". So, yes, I'd take it just in case, for peace of mind.

Saying that, DS arrived early and I hadn't even thought about a hospital bag - we managed fine. Hospital gave us what we needed urgently (maternity pads, nappies, towels etc) until DH was able to nip out to a shop (where he had to stop a random woman who had just done her shopping, and ask whether she knew what maternity pads were, and where he might find them Grin ).
