I've been suffering from morning sickness last couple weeks and it's been horrible! ! At first all I could eat was ice pops... then the next week was all about cheese on toast... literally the only thing I can stomach n stops me feeling sick for hours! Anyway this week the cheese on toast thing was still going... but this week I keep becoming starving at like midnight and I can't sleep I'm so hungry so I've been getting up n eating cheese on toast. I know it's bad but I can't help It. anyway just now I woke up had a total craving for scrambled egg on toast so made some n wolfed it down... still wasn't satisfied so I looked in the fridge all I could find that caught my eye was coleslaw. .. so I finished off the tub :-/ there was half left... never eaten so much in my life but I needed it!!! I sat in front of the fridge stuffing my face lol has anyone else does this??? Have you eaten at wierd times?? Eaten wierd things or just gone crazy?? Xxx

Craving changed for me on a regular basis, I decided it was bodies way of say what it needs eg egg and cheese for protein, carbs for energy etc. I am currently on a need more dairy stage, just got with it and keep healthy choices in the fridge. Hope sickness gets better soon

Yup - used to wake up in the night starving and wolf down a bowl of cereal to keep me going til the morning. If I'd had the energy to make eggs on toast I would've done!

I reckoned it was just my body's way of getting what it needs. Growing a placenta and a human takes a lot of energy!

Yes exactly the same here in the early stages, now at 20 weeks I just need fruit constantly. All types and as often as possible! As ginger said I reckon it's just your body's way of getting what it needs.

Yep, stuffed my face all through first trimester of each pregnancy. If I got distracted and didn't eat anything for 2 hours + then I started feeling sick, so I had to keep eating. I regularly got up at 3am for food - cereal and bananas mainly, because they were quick and to hand, but could have eaten anything. Go with the flow, and ignore the pregnancy advice along the lines of "there's no need to consume more calories in the first trimester/you shouldn't put on weight in the first trimester." I always gained weight at an alarming weight, but it dropped off again in the second trimester and overall weight gain per pregnancy was absoutely normal.

This time I developed a massive craving for tomato juice, had a couple of liters every day. And one day just went off of it again. DH was not amused after he had just dragged a big box home and I then announced that nah, don't want it any more Grin
