Weight Loss Third Trimester

Hi All,

Has anyone been losing weight in the third trimester? I'm 30 weeks and have lost half a stone in the last 3 weeks! I did put on quite a lot in the preceding weeks but I'm a little concerned. My total weight gain so far is 24lbs even with the loss which I know is quite high but I'm a bit taken aback at the speed of this loss.

How's your appetite? Have you been eating less?

I lost weight in my third trimester but I had GD and was on a very strict diet and having regular growth scans. It was fine as the weight was coming off me rather than anything related to the baby IYSWIM.

I'm finding I'm just not hungry so I might be losing weight because of that, I don't know because I haven't weighed myself. As long as you're eating enough I doubt it's anything to worry about.

I'm 34 weeks and having being losing weight steadily since about 20 weeks. I did have a high bmi to start with (over 30) so the midwife recommended I, at the very least, try not to gain but to lose some weight if I could. In the last couple of weeks it's been really easy as I'm just not hungry, I can't eat proper meals and spend most of my day nibbling on fruit and veg and then just very small portions at meal times.

As long as baby is measuring well and you're feeling ok I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I always lost my appetite in the third trimester - baby 'filling' me up - just didn't feel so hungry. Pregnant with DC6 and currently 24 weeks - appetite starting to go. All DC have been normal birth weight and healthy.

I am eating plenty. Still got a very good appetite. It's not gd either as was tested at the midwife a couple of weeks ago. Really can't understand why it is happening, think I will call the midwife on Monday.
