If at all?

Just that really! No family history of diabetes but my BMI was 35 on booking in, I'm 26+4 today

It's the raised bmi that does it. I'm going to have to have one for this pregnancy at 26 weeks as my bmi was 30.2 at booking. But the mw gave me the blood form at 8 weeks, then got a later from the hospital with the appointment.

As far as I know, you've got up to 28 weeks to have it.

My bmi was 35 at booking in and they've not mentioned it. Midwife obviously asks at every appoint meant whether I've had headaches, swelling or dizziness but where I am (Central Scotland) there certainly doesn't seem to be a standard test...?

How old are you? My BMI was 32 at booking but I haven't had a GTT as I'm 25 and all my urine and bloods so far have been perfect.

Whereas SIL is slim and 30 years old so has had a GTT - everyone over 30 is tested in her area.

My sister is diabetic so I was tested in both pg's, around 25 weeks if memory serves me well.

I'm 32. Nothing at all has been mentioned to me as of yet. Although I'm happy to get tested of needed of course, I will however will be pointing out that my BMI was only over 35 as she put me as being 1.5 cm shorter than I actually am Grin

I was tested at 28 weeks last time. Family history flagged up the risk at booking in. This time I'm being tested at 20 weeks at the latest because I had it last pregnancy.

My urine and bloods have all been fine to date but am having a precautionary screening at approx 28 weeks because of family history (my nan is diabetic). Got the appointment letter just today, in fact! Can't believe it takes 2.5 hours...what do they do!?

You have blood taken as soon as you get there. Then you have 5 mins to drink a vile concoction, in some areas it's just lucozade, at my hospital it's like half done jelly then you have to sit for 2 hours and let it take effect, then another blood test.

In my area they give you the GTT if you have a family history of diabetes, you've had Gt in a previous pregnancy, your BMI is over 30, you are over 30 or you start to measure/look very large. You normally have it between 26-28 weeks
Skeppers You need to fast the night before so if your appointment is at 9am you can't eat after 9pm the night before. They take blood then give you a horrid drink, it's like cheap, flat coke. Then you have to sit about in the waiting room for 2 hours. Then they take blood again and you're done. I had one with ds and my advice would be to take a book/laptop/magazines and also some food, I was starving by the time they took the second bloods!!
