Cheese & carbs... Anyone else?

This is literally all I want to eat. Am 8 weeks and other things have made me feel quite nauseous, even smells can do it.

Tell me I'm not alone? Oh and the amount of bubbles in me means I'm pretty much mainlining peppermint tea too...

White bread, pasta, cheesy pizzas = first trimester for me. Worry about veg when you've finished feeling sick!

That was my first tri diet-and went right off my usual treats of cake.

I did get back to a more regular diet in the second tri but still have days when a cheese & pickle sandwich is the only thing I fancy

My first trimester consisted of macdonalds, ready salted crisps and cheese and crackers Smile

Treats right now are strange - pop, ice cream, even honey, make me feel so bad I have to take a seat for a few minutes to get over it. Don't remember it feeling this extreme last time

I had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner last night. I'm 23 weeks.

For me it's salt salt and more salt.!

I think it's because I've actually gone off cheese having been used to eating a lot of it.

I think my body is missing the salt it usually gets from cheese.

I didn't eat crisps before (occasionally at parties etc) but now I want crisps every day! And not just one pack but 3!

I had cheesy beans on toast or a jacket potato four times this week, and have just eaten pizza for tea. I'm 12 weeks today.

Pasta and Swedish meatballs five times, veg makes me gag, but I am managing grapes, melon and pints of milk.

mrstothemr- I could have written you post. It is just carbs and cheese (whole ball of mozzarella can eat in one). Love milk but same time it tastes weird with the metallic taste I have constantly Sad

Carbs definitely, bread, chips, mash, baked potatoes, pasta... Cheese and ham sandwiches are my thing for dinner at the moment. Tea has to include one of the aforementioned food groups...

Yep, pretty much my diet in the first pregnancy, eventually branched out into cereals and yoghurt but that was it for 9 months...had a boy, wonder if there's any link. Do you know what you're having?

Ah sorry, just read you're 8 weeks so won't know yet, come back and update when you do? I want to know if I'm right!

Yes this is what I craved with ds. I craved sweet stuff and cold lemonade with dd. Not sure if there's anything in that though.

Oh interesting... And wish I knew Santa! Ds would be pleased with a little brother I'm sure

I pretty much exclusively ate carbs in first trimester. Now I still salivate at the thought of cheese on toast and still eat it about twice a week. Its good for you - calcium!!

I remember this! Cheese and baked potatoes was all I could eat for weeks.

I was having quite bad morning sickness at 8 weeks. I could barely eat but when I did it was carbs. chips, toast, crisps and cheddar was pretty much my diet with ocassional prawns and tonnes of coca cola. buy vitamin tablets!

Even now at 24 weeks I am eating cheddar every day

If you have a sainsburys near you, they sell the most amazing snack sized pieces of cheddar - there's a cracked black pepper one, a lime and chilli one (my bean seems to LOVE spicy stuff!) and a plain one. They're by the chunky cheese company, and they are DELICIOUS. Great for craving nibbling.

Also Stilton (as we can't have any other yummy blue cheese!) on fancy fudge's salty crackers. Mmmm.

Protein and calcium, that's my excuse.

I am genuinely worried I haven't gone off anything or developd any cravings at all except a sudden urge for crunchy veggis and fruits. I hope everything is alright in there? Im just eating my regular stuff - porridge with seeds and banana for brekkie, tomato juice and oranges for snack, some soup or homemade curry with bread for lunch, avocados, and some fish or meat with home chips and veg or rice for dinner with orange juice. I keep trying to investigate my head to hunt for cravings but nothing!!! I've completely gone off fast food which was my largest weak point. I hope bean is ok :( am 8 weeks gone, starting 9 today.

Cravings are usually a second trimester thing I think, so don't worry! Your diet sounds great, your bean will be super happy in there!

Agree with scarednoob, that's going to be one healthy bean! I'm sure it's fine to feel fine (as it were), can't say it's cravings as such here, more just slight sickiness. Be interested to know if the gender thing is true - maybe you're having a girl?

Never seen lime or chili cheese packets, am definitely going to look for them. Thanks for the tip Smile one matchbox size cheese lump a day is going to be tough...
