I've just been looking through my notes from my 12 week scan and it says 'Placenta: low anterior, structure normal'. What does this mean?

I am 20+3 now and have my 20 week scan next week, should I mention this?

It means your placenta is down towards the lower part of your uterus and on the front wall of it, by your belly, rather than the back wall. Nothing to worry about, it just describes where it is.

I had a low, anterior placenta with DD Op. Nothing to worry about. It just means you will feel movement a bit later. It's just luck of the draw as they say.
