Hiya,

I have my GTT at 9.00am tomorrow. Any idea when I'm likely to be released? Absolutely stacked at work so contemplating taking a laptop/dongle if I'm going to be sat around for a while.

Mine was just over 2 hours. They took a sample of blood as soon as I arrived then 15 minutes to drink the sugary drink and then called back 2 hours later. They told me to try to stay still during the 2 hours and not to leave the antenatal department.

Hope it goes ok.

Was the drink pop? It sounds revolting.

Original lucozade. It's usually a can of but if your Bmi is over a certain figure it's a can and a half, gave me horrible heartburn.

I've had two of these. I wasn't given lucazade but a foul tasting drink. Was allowed to go home and come back two hours later. I would have been too weak to return to work inbetween.

I'm having it at my gp surgery. Wonder if that has any bearing on if you get treated to a lucozade or not! Might bring my own, just in case!

My test was a couple of years ago but it was a lemony drink, not too bad to be honest. The wait was dull but now I have a 2.5 yo DS I'd love to sit with a book for a couple of hours in peace GrinGrin

Try to get in early so your the first one in. Often they get ask everyone to come at the same time but call you in in order of arrival. If there are several in front of you, you might not get seen until 9.20 etc and so won't be done until 11.20.

I think it's rare that they'll let you leave the hospital but you can go down to cafe. It'll be quite a good undisturbed couple of hours for working I think.
