SPD - Which support belt is the best. Help please!

I know there are bellybras and anita belts.
I have SPD in the early stages - bad sacro iliac pain, some groin pain and inner thigh/sciatica , physio referral is going to be at last 6-8 weeks (I'm 18 weeks pregnant) and midwife cannot get em a belt until seen by physio.
Am seeing osteo but he is not able to recommend one that would be best for SPD.
I am already limping and finding walking hard, driving makes it 100x worse.
Help!

Thats shocking that you can't see physio for 6-8wks!

Is there no way you can get an appt. before then as it can get bad really quickly? Sorry, thats probably not what you want to hear but having had SPD last pregnancy I really feel for you.

I'm not sure whats available to buy though. If it helps the one supplied by the physio that I used had 3 huge velcro straps to place at strategic points around and under the bump.

Good luck
Do chemists stock things like that? If not maybe they could advise a supplier?

I live in semi rural area and the wait for a physio who can deal with obstetric cases is huge as there is only one man... Priority given to those in 3rd trimester

My osteo is great but I am not sure I can afford weekly/2 x weekly sessions.
Our chemist stocks every make up line known to man kind but does not even stock maternity sanitary towels.

I was hoping someone on here had used one an I could buy off them or off internet

Unfortunately I binned mine (resisted the urge to burn it!) otherwise you could have had it with pleasure.

Might be worth pleading on here under the "Wanted" section and then if you get one get advise from midwife/osteopath as to how to wear it.

I've got a huge one if you want it but must say its useless!!! Heard that the one from Blooming Marvellous is much better though. Have you tried accupunture or a chiro? Also go back to your GP & make them bring your physio appointment forward. They can fax a letter to the hospital & get you in sooner than that, its terrible. If you are offered crutches take them, they will make your bad days a little easier.
Good Luck

get a tubigrip..you can get a huge one might have to order from pharmacy but believe me they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fab. I was given one of those by physio and also the huge wrap around spined thing but found that slightly uncomfortable when having to pick up ds.

I've found one on ebay esp for sacro iliac pain which is my main source of agony atm
I have crutches in my garage from when I broke my foot coupla years ago. Although luckily not having to do much as ds is away and dd is happy to stay home.
Seeing osteo again next Tuesday, we'll see what he says I think.
No chance of physio being brought forward I have been told.
I cannot really afford to go private either.
