cot bumpers?

Just wondering which is better - the ones that wrap around the whole cot or the ones that just go at the top and about 1/4 way down the sides? also I've seen mesh ones and fabric ones - is one better than the other?

They aren't really required or recommended for newborns due to. Cot death risk.

Bumpers aren't recommended for safety reasons. Sadly, as they look cute.

Mesh ones are safer (JL do them) - if your LO cuddles right up to them they will still be able to breathe. Also best to get velcro ones, no dangerous strings and also so they can't use them to climb out of cot and fall.

Aw really? that's a shame, it makes the cot look so nice! so I should just stick to a mattress, sheets and blankets for the cot and nothing else?

But yes, will echo others here, the fabric ones are unsafe. Nothing is probably best.

I wold stick to matress, fitted sheet and baby in grobag, not blankets, for maximum safety.

Any waterproof undersheet should not be where their head will be, to lower risk of suffocation.

Your soposed to put baby right at the end of the cot anyway, so those cot bumpers that are only 1/4 wouldn't do anything anyway. Just look cute.

We used an air wrap one one he was a little older and it's main use was to keep the dummy in the cot :).
