26 weeks pregnant and suddenly feel really uncomfortable and exhausted - advice

Hello everyone.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and went for scan yesterday and baby had moved head down. In the last 24 hours I have just felt really uncomfortable (like I am going to burst)and completely completely exhausted. I think I have been having plenty of braxton hicks as well. I was laying in bed thinking I don't remember feeling like this in my 1st pregnancy (now 18months old). When will this pass? Looking forward to feeling a bit better. Part of me was thinking I hope I am not going into labour. I have no idea as I had a planned ceasarean with my first as he was breech. Do you think I would have another C section on the second?

Any feedback would be great. thank you

Hi,

I'm 26 weeks as well and feeling a bit like you foxy, I sometimes feel really uncomfortable like the baby is going to burst through my stomach a la Alien!!

Plus get so exhausted sometimes and have burst in to tears on my way into work in the morning as I just wanted to go back to sleep.

Thankfully as I don't have any other kids I can just go for a snooze when I come home from work which definitely helps!

Was also having insomnia as well, but have found that having a snack before I went to bed helped as I was waking up with my stomach rumbling. Must be all that growing the baby is doing!!

Sorry don't have any feedback on when/if this will pass as it's my first, just thought I'd show some empathy!!

Hi, 26 weeks here too. Or am I 27? I'm too knackered to remember, lol! Totally sympathise with you, I'm far more knackered than I remember being with ds (16m). I don't know if I have a warped memory of the last pg, or if pg with a toddler is exhausting me (though last time I was working full time), or what, but I do feel worse. And in the last 2-3weeks I've been feeling quite sickly, almost like mild morning sickness, and I definitely don't remember that from last time. And ditto on the pregnancy incomnia, which is horrible.
Foxy, I have a friend who had a c-s for breech first time, who had her second last year by normal delivery. She was really nervous about it too, and almost disappointed dd wasn't breech, but in the end was glad she had the chance to deliver without all the kerfuffle of a c-s. HTH

I'm 30 weeks now, and can definitely say that I had a rough patch at about 26 weeks. Felt like a sudden growth spurt, my bump grew massively and I was shattered all the time. Now my bump seems a bit more settled and I have more energy, so there is still hope!

hi

I am so relieved to read this message, I'm 26wks too and feeling awful this week. My bumps grown really quickly in last 2 weeks (which is good) but have also been having morning type sickness nausea, loads of Braxton Hicks and baby wriggling and battering me to bits ALL the time (or what feels like). I am totally shattered again after enjoyed about 4/5weeks of feeling great. I feel like I'm 36wks not 26!

I was worried too, that I was going to go into early labour but now I've read all these messages I feel a lot better.

Thank goodness for the internet eh?
