Pregnant After Taking Morning After Pill

Well title says it all really.
I took the morning after pill and I'm pregnant.
Very .
Dp not happy. I don't see how i can cope with another baby (have dd1 nearly 3 and dd2 nearly 12 months). Dp works away during week so on my own most of the time, although at the moment i'm staying with my parents. But i am spreading my wings, getting a job (after being a sahm for 3 years) and leaving home, again.
I have made my decision though and I'm going to be a young mother of three. Whether i will be single or with dp i don't know yet but my mind is made up and i'm bloody scared!!
Anybody else been pregnant after taking morning after pill? Was everything normal and ok? Can't help but worry something will be wrong with the baby. Haven't been to doctors yet only found out over the weekend. So any experiences/advice will be appreciated.

hi there
I took the morning after pill and it did not work but I did not realise until was approx 17 weeks gone --it was not the best news I had returned to work and was still b/f a baby then 22m when found out.

My baby was fine the midwife said not to worry.

I was worried until after the scans but everything was great --she was more worried about the copious amounts of alcohol I had drunk on my hols and the fact that I had fallen down the stairs with dd3 quite badly hurting my back as I stopped d3 geting hurt.
Please do not worry we just bit the bullet and got on with it feel it was meant to be.
I am the mother of 4 girls now 3 under 5 staying at home and enjoying it although I do go to alot of mums and tots!!

DS3 is a "MAP Baby" - he is 7 now and fine (I wonder if I'm the person jellybean knows!)

I was on the labour ward with a woman who was pregnant following an accident with a condom and a failed morning after pill. I think she and her husband decided that the baby was meant to be, as did I when I became pregnant even though I'd had a coil fitted.

It's a shock, especially when you thought you'd taken precautions to stop it from happening, but you'll cope. And if your dp was that against having another baby then he should have done something about it himself, like used a condom or had the snip.

Congratulations love!

Awww, congratulations and hopfully your dp will support you in your decision, and if not, well, he isn't worth it, I suppose!
I am sure there was recently a post about someone else in disbelief because she fell pg even though she took the morning after pill...I suppose it is one of those things that can happen!

I fell pregnant at 18 after taking the morning after pill, I was petrified!! My little boy is 4 now, extremely clever and healthy. Your question was the first one I asked my doctor when I found out I was pregnant and he said that it would not have any affect on the baby at all.

I've got a 29 week old Bump from taking the MAP! DP and I decided the little thing deserved to live really since fighting its way through all manner of contraceptive devices! Loads of my friends were telling me all sorts about how it could affect the baby but Dr and MW didn't say a word.

I have two friends with children born after taking the MAP. Both children are gorgeous, bright, charming boys.

Good luck.

It happened to my sister. Baby was fine. I was shocked to find I was pregnant this time and it took a while to get my head round it but now I am happy and looking forward to it. It does change things a bit but look at your other kids you wouldn't send them back would you! I'm sure your dp will be fine. Hope so

And misdee, i'm sure everything will be fine.

I did take mine rather late, 50 some hours. It was only 58% chance it would work at that time i just never thought it would fail! Silly me
