Hello, I had a MC at 7 weeks on 1st Sept and fell pregnant again before my period, making me now roughly 10+4 (by my calc as i have a 35 day cycle, 11+4 if you ask my MW).Got my 12 week scan on Monday and I'm so so worried about going anand finding out its a MC that I just can't stop thinking the worst. Has anyone else been pregnant straight after a MC and gone on to have a successful pregnancy? DD is 7 so I know I can carry to term, we just desperately want everything to be ok :-( Any experiences would be appreciated, thanks ever so much xx

This is a completely separate pregnsncy and there is no reason to suspect anything is wrong.

Not exactly the same but I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks, D&C at 10 weeks. My doc told me I could try again immediately, no reason not to. I waited to have one period and then tried & got pregnant and am now 30 weeks.

Try to keep busy over weekend and don't stress! Can't believe you had to wait til 12 weeks for a scan, is it not standard to get one at 8 weeks if you've had a miscarriage?

I'm totally in the same boat as you! MC in Sept and pregnant again before I had another period, couldn't believe how lucky we were! My epas booked me in for an early scan and I measured at 6+4 at the time. I was a mess in the run up til it was done as like you, I just thought I was going to MC again. I had 2 weeks to wait from when getting a bfp, to getting the scan so I asked my GP about hcg levels being checked. She was brilliant and confirmed they were doubling for me in the meantime.

Even though we were able to see the tiny flicker of a heartbeat at the scan, we have another one booked for next Thursday, which we should be 8+4 and I'm still worrying!

All we can do is take things easy, try to just enjoy knowing we're pregnant as stressing can only do harm. I really hope everything goes well for you!

Hi ladies, thank you for replying! I was offered an earlier scan but opted not to- I know myself too well and even if it was good news, it would only have assured me for a few days before worrying again so decided to wait for 12 week one. This is decidedly my own issue and not intended to make anyone else feel the same way.

I'm so pleased for you that you saw a little heartbeat! Will keep everything crossed for you that your little bean sticks and is beating away heartily for you in s couple of weeks time LG.

Baby blabber- that's amazing news congratulations on your pregancy! Did you ever find yourself start to relax and enjoy it or do you still worry? I look back at my first pregancy and it didn't even occur to me that something could go wrong! How I long to be so positive again now :-(

I've had two healthy pregnancies after falling the cycle immediately following mc at 10 weeks ... my boys are now 13 and 11 :) there is absolutely no reason why things won't work out this time and I wish you all the very best :)

My miscarriage started on the 11th of march last year. I conceived again roughly around the 24th of march, so no period in between. My DS is a lovely happy healthy almost one year old now.

Try not to worry.

Thank you so much for your positive stories ladies, though I am sorry so many of you have had miscarried too. My DP and I have decided to go away for the weekend and try to relax and enjoy ourselves and not worry about Monday until Monday! Fingers crossed we will be as lucky and see a healthy little bean on Monday xx

I definitely relaxed after first scan at 8 weeks but was still nervous. Had another scan at 12 weeks and defo got better after that. I'm a bit more cautious re what food to eat than most 3rd time mums I'd say but once I started feeling kicks etc I was really able to start looking forward to the baby coming.

Best of luck, let us know how you get on!

Hi Sacha, I've been told the digital tests are a bad move as HCG levels are so broad a range for each week that using them can cause unnecessary worry Confused was everything ok at your scan? Keeping everything crossed for you that it's good news and you have a happy and healthy pregancy Smile babyblabber here's to the next 10 weeks going smoothly and a lovely labour Smile

No definitely not bad news! If HCG is rising it's got to be good news I would have thought?! Be mindful of hook effect if you do keep testing though - apparently when you get to 10 weeks ish the HCG gets too high to register on home rests so comes out as v.faint positive which could worry you if you weren't expecting it. Do you have another follow up scan or now waiting for your 12 week one? Xx

Hi I've had 3 mcs and 4 children, I fell pregnant straight away after 2 of my mcs and both pregnancies carried on and were very straight forward. They are now 4 and 14 months old :)

I was in your position in May, pregnant immediately after a MC without a period. I'm not the UK, and the doctors here were treating like some major problem, but it really isn't! I'm 31 weeks now with a healthy pregnancy. I read some research that statistically you are slightly less likely to miscarry if you get pregnant in the first 6 months following a miscarriage. So congratulations!

Anna, so sorry for your MC but congratulations on your healthy pregancy! Not long to go now until you meet your little one Smile woke up at 2.30 after an awful dream about the scan so daren't go back to sleep Sad I'm trying to tell myself it's going to be fine and to stay positive but it's not easy. How I long for my DD's pregnancy when I worried about nothing and just enjoyed it!!

Bless you, I have the opposite - my DP is massively optimistic and I'm terrified! Feel like I haven't been able to breathe since 1st September when I miscarried. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Are you doing anything this evening to help you take your mind off it? I do so hope it's good news for you xxxxx
