Overdue and Utterly Fed Up

I'm 9 days overdue with DC3 and starting to feel like this baby is NEVER coming. 6 nights ago, I was having contractions (mild ones) every 5 minutes for 6 hours then they just stopped :(

I've got a 4 and 3 year old boys already, so my energy levels are already pretty low, so suggestions of long walks and sex are out of the question as I simply don't have the energy!!

I've not had a show and the MW refused to do a sweep (don't know why, as the previous MW I'd seen had offered me one but when I turned up I saw a different midwife who told me it was too early to do one (I was 3 days late at this stage).

I just want some lovely stories from people that it will start spontaneously (and soon!) xx

I don't have any pearls of wisdom but wanted to let you know you're not alone! I'm currently four days overdue, baby still wriggling happily and no sign of him making a move despite a dodgy tummy for two weeks. He wasn't engaged even a little bit at 38+4 so hoping SOMETHING might have progressed at my midwife appointment this afternoon!

Your mw was a bit unfair, I'm 2 days overdue with dc2 and just had a sweep as keen to avoid some induction related complications I had last time - going in for sweep 2 on Friday at +5 and trying to walk more

Me too, I am 40+5 and my sweep is tomorrow and baby showing no signs at all of budging, she isn't even engaged yet :-(. I will let you know if anything occurs, I am also trying Clary sage oil and raspberry leaf tea.

I'm seeing the MW again on Thursday and will refuse to leave the clinic until she's given me a sweep!!

40+2 here and nothing. Bump still holding boobs up. Been doing all the other stuff like RLT, walking, sex blah blah, but none of that really works. Have got reflexology booked for Friday, but other than that I'm going to try and avoid sweeps etc and fight not to be induced. Grrr. I'm going to end up getting the rage on if I have to argue about what I'm 'allowed' to do with my own body.

I feel the same way about being induced, I am refusing to go through it. I am only agreeing to the sweep as I would like to get moving and also a physical exam may ease a few anxieties I have. mandbaby you make sure you are heard too, its strange they haven't offered one to you.

I know you don't want to do the walk, but it worked for me on Saturday. I live next to a big hill up to the moors. Went with DS (2.5) and DH. Plug started to come away by the time I got home and had DD on Sunday. Worth a try if you're desperate???

I'm going for a long walk this afternoon with a mate who has just had a baby - she's worried about needing to feed him half way round, I'm worried about not being able to get half way round! Ah well. Worth a try.
