5 weeks clearblue digital worries!

Hi all

After 18 months of trying my hubby and I got our 1st BFP a week ago :) We are so happy! I'm sure this has been posted about to death but my worry is the clearblue digital is still saying 1-2 weeks even with FMU (in doctors terms based on LMP I'm 5+4 weeks). I know it measures from conception rather than LMP but I'm worried my hcg isn't increasing enough :$ Is there anything I can do- like ask GP for a blood test? Or should I just relax and know that a positive is a positive and these things aren't that accurate? Has anyone else had similar experiences (with positive outcomes!)?

Am I the only person in the world who stopped peeing on sticks once I actually got pregnant?
I know that doesn't answer your question, OP, and I'm sorry. But I'm in the "you won't know for sure till the scan, so just ride it out" camp.

PS Congratulations. :)

Afaik the conception indicator isn't that accurate as hcg levels can vary so much from woman to woman, and can be affected by how much you've drunk etc.

If it were me I would test again in a weeks time, but am POAS addict. Sensible thing is to stop testing and know you are pregnant for now, and take your folic acid. Congratulations. Smile

When I first tested the day after AF was due my cb digital said 2-3 I think some people's levels of hormones are just lower or higher. A positive is a positive. You are pregnant! Congratulations Grin

This page on implantation may reassure you a bit.

Says there is huge variation in how long it takes to get a + test depending on when implantation occurs and how long it takes (and thus explains why some women don't get a + test till a few days after their period is due.

Thank you guys for your reassurance :) The more I think about it, l think it may have only actually implanted 2 weeks ago (if I ovulated a bit late and it took a while for sperm to reach and then another 6-7 days to implant) :)

Hey pink
I am having exact same issue. I should be six weeks but clear blue is saying 1-2. Google had not helped as many women seem to have found this predicts a miscarriage though there. I cannot relax at all and have booked a private viability scan at the weekend. It was cheaper than all these tests I am doing. I'm a bit resigned at this stage to the pregnancy maybe not being viable but just want to know. Doc said leave for 12 week scan but no way ban I do or afford 6 more weeks!!!

Not very helpful but wanted you to know you are not alone

Xxxxx

At five weeks I did ANOTHER CB diggie as I wanted to see the numbers go up week by week. I got 2-3 weeks. I'm now 13+5. I know its not the same but hopefully this helps.

It helps alot to hear your experiences. I think I also panicked because the Internet cheapies I bought this week have a really faint line, but I've never had a dark one with that batch. So I've just tried a pound land brand that you pee on and got a very clear BFP (well I think it is!)

5 weeks clearblue digital worries!

I'm getting to be a bit of a compulsive poas we!! Am getting quite dark lines on the cheap or moderate priced one but did my last clear blue today and still 1-2. I'll let you know how the early scan goes. Xxx

I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant following ivf so I knew my dates. I panicked because when I regularly tested with cb digital it hadn't gone from 2-3 weeks to 3+ weeks when it was supposed to. Got myself really stressed about it and had an early scan and so far so good. I stopped testing because I was worrying myself so much. Also, I have had loads of period type cramping throughout on and off. Hope that helps. I really recommend an early private scan if you can afford it.

Thanks yorkie, I do think we'll have an early scan, ill book one today for a couple of weeks time I think. Thank you for replying, I've got a bit more cramping this morning (kind of feels like my period coming so it makes me a bit anxious) but also had my first real bout of nausea :)

I really don't think that's a very dark line smiley. Sorry.

Maybe my experience is tainted from having an ectopic recently. I also have 4 DC and the lines where much stronger. I would expect after a week of getting a line that the line would now be properly dark.

I would ask for blood tests 48 hrs apart to check the levels are rising properly.

Sorry to be the only gloomy one.

Should I just phone the doctors and explain my worries, or will I sound like a neurotic idiot? Should I book an appointment to see doctor again (they didn't offer me a blood test when I went on Monday), or will I just be able to ask over the phone for tests?

To be honest I wouldnt worry, line doesnt have to be dark because it also depends on the tests some lines dont go dark on some tests, ive took tests in my previous pregnancys and done one brand n got a line like yours and then done a dif brand straight after and got a solid line. And also the conception indicator is no good at all, ds2 it told me 1-2wk i.e 3-4 and docs did bloods same day and my hormone level put me at over 5wk scan 4 days later put me at 6wk 3 days. Please dont worry just yet you have a positive thats all you need for now.

I suppose I'm worried because I've tried 4 different tests over the last week and they have all only come back faint. I think I'm only 2 weeks post-implantation though I know hcg should be doubling :( I feel nauseous and intermittent sore boobs and cramping + bloating. Might try to book a private hcg

Ds3 all come back faint till nearly 2wks after finding out, honestly first test I took at nearly 4wk was so faint camera couldnt even pick the line up,turned out iI ovulated abit late and implantation as you said also varys pregnancy to pregnancy. There could be many reasons. But do see your gp. And express ur concerns if its making you anxious, they prob will want to check your BETA hcg and hopefully that will put ur mind at ease x

Urgh men are such kn*bs! I got myself so anxious I decided I'd just pay for a test which will come back later today but the doctor (I assume) who took the bloods kept questioning me why I would want them done. I felt like saying 'why the 3rd degree- you're getting paid anyway!' I know it'll only tell me an arbitrary number and should get a 48hr one done too, but I think I just don't believe the sticks and they are costing me a small fortune anyway! So, I should know by 7pm....

Congrats on the pregnancy, but my advice to you would be to stop poas - you are pregnant and you are obviously not being reassured by these multiple tests so there is no point doing them over and over.

It sounds like you are having all the normal pregnancy symptoms that are expected at your early gestation. Period pains, sore boobs, nausea are all normal - just wait til the sickness really sets in at 6-8 weeks and you will be wishing back to these earlier days.

Maybe it is worth having an early scan - but try to hold off til about 8 weeks so that you see a heartbeat and then it is really reassuring (plus mc rates really decrease by about 9 weeks). Any earlier could mean more anxiety if it is just a sac etc.

I'm with you panzee only peed on a stick once - and then just sat back and waited, but I do understand that this period is nerve-wracking.

I wish if people dont come back and update with an ending to these posts they would just be deleted. Anyone ttc reading this.post is going to worry themselves sick because the OP never came back to let people know what happened. It should just be taken down or it's just causing anxiety for others.
