Baby brain or just me going bananas?

Do you think baby brain really exists or am I just going mad?

Amongst other things so far I have actually come to work in the exact same dress I went to work in yesterday by accident! No one seems to have noticed tho!

Please tell me it's not just me!

Haha not just you! I'm forgetting the silliest things.

I have did reports in work everyday for about 2 years. Got halfway through it this morning and forgot how to do it.

Thats the one that most stands out, I have really noticed a difference though.

It exists. I had to stop working at 33 weeks - the point at which I could no longer remember conversations I'd had the previous day (not just the content, but the fact I'd had the conversation).

I also know someone who forgot what she was doing halfway through a telephone call.

I'm glad it's not just me!

I also tried to call someone by dialing the phone number on my computer keyboard rather than the phone!

Isn't it funny how you just forget stuff you do every day!

Gonna be a fun 5 months!!

Oh it def' exists, like KleienD, I was having conversations and then have no recollection of them, I think my family were a bit worried for a while Grin

I also went shopping with dh to buy a bed and dh asked if I was ok, I said yes why and he replied that I had just asked the lady the same question five times...He wondered how she had kept so calm with me Gin

Now my family accept that what ever they say or I say will be completely forgotten, that way we all know where we stand.

I didn't get it with my first pg though..

I wear the same clothes two days in a row at work as do loads of the women I work with... I never realised it was ever an issue??

But as for forgetting things and doing daft things.. yep all the time.

The only issue is is that I had put it in the dirty laundry basket and must have picked it out by accident.

I tend to wear a different outfit every day so would be obvious to my very small team.

Perhaps I should start tho to reduce my loads of washing each week!

i think it does! i was always a bit sceptical (bad me) but i've managed to forget loads of things, ask really odd questions and god knows what else. it takes me forever to do anything as well.
(my colleagues might have noticed if i had done that at one point... at least your colleagues wouldn't think you were doing the walk of shame!!!)

Vocabulary has dwindled and dumbed down - dh always picking me up for it (ha! Usually it is me picking him up!). Also my second language has come to the fore and I keep stumbling with my English. Weird. Like my brain is rewired at the moment. The most embarassing is forgetting what I was going to say mid-sentence. Happened in a meeting today and everyone was nice about it but I knew what they were all thinking! Shock

I'm forgetting words, they are in my brain but when I go to say them, they have gone. Trying to get some equipment at work fixed and the poor woman on the phone had to put up with me going "you know, the thingy that's attached to the whatdymacallit". (That was meant to be the pipe attached to the inlet)

I also use to be able to make all the cakes etc at work without looking at the recipes. Now I can only just remember how to switch the oven on.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but I'm finding that even though my vocabulary is slipping, other aspects are seemingly getting stronger. Things such as my organisational skills and my ability to stand up for myself.

I got into the car yesterday to drive to the supermarket and on my way there had a total and complete memory lapse and couldn't remember the way to get there. I coulnd't even picture the road or the entrance or work backwards in my mind, how to get there. I had to go to a different supermarket.

I'm almost 30 weeks and really struggling at work at the moment. It's like always having known how to do something, like ride a bike, or speak a language, and then you go to do it - and there's nothing there. I've opened my mouth in meetings sometimes, and literally NOTHING has come out, and people just stare at me. It's horrid :(
