Pink-ish urine paranoia

Hi all, some advice please! First (successful) pregnancy, almost 11 weeks. All's been fine so far. This afternoon my time was tinged very slightly pink! Got a huge shock as I know Udine infections can be serious, but I've actually never had a urinary tract infection before so don't know what that feels like. Had no other symptoms though and feel fine.

Then I remembered I ate a (small) bag of beetroot crisps at lunchtime... Could it just be that? It's after hours Friday now so I'm thinking of just waiting. Should I be worried or am I being paranoid??

Thanks all!

Yes it could easily be the beetroot crisps, I wouldn't worry unless you have any other symptoms like burning/stinging on urinating or a temperature.

Sorry, that's a predictive text error... Was supposed to be "urine" instead of "time" and "Udine"!!

I don't know if beetroot makes wee pink, but I think I'd call a midwife and get some advice from them to be on the safe side. There should be an out of hours midwife number you can call.

If it is something like a uti, better it's seen to early, after all.

I clicked on your post to ask if you'd eaten beetroot!

Beetroot definitely makes wee pink and a packet of crisps even a small one would be at least a whole beetroot and probably more.

Yes! Most definitely. Turns mine pink too. Also, picalilli turns it bright luminous yellow! ShockGrin

Haha, I also clicked to ask if you'd had any beetroot! I scared the bejesus out of myself twice last week until I remembered the roast beet in my packed lunch salads.

So yeah, I wouldn't think there's any cause for concern Smile
